Marlin 30-30. I had a Savage single shot 30-30 for years that granddad gave me. The marlin was a dream till I hit 15 or 16 & saved my own money for it. If memory serves me right??????????? I bought that Marlin at the old Coast to Coast hardware store in
Ralston Nebraska. Not sure Coast to Coast is even around anymore?

Semi auto centerfire?

It was either my XCR or my PTR-91, I got them both at around the same time. Can't remember which one came first.

Note the question was for first rifle that was Semi-Auto.

Chinese SKS, pre-Norinko.

Some of the more recent Chinese SKS had some quality problems. These were primarily the ones that the Chicom intelligence services had manufactured and exported to the US to get hard currency to finance their operations.

The one I have has nice workmanship, and will hold 2 inch groups at 100 yards (10 shot groups).

Rem 742 woodsmaster in 30-06. Was stolen from my uncle's gun cabinet about 25 yrs ago along with all his guns. It was one of the ADL's with the basketweave checkering and monte carlo stock. Still pissed...:fire:

AK 47 variant, something about it being the weapon of choice to fight big brother around the world. It's iconic, reliable, and powerful! not to mention pretty cheap compared to an AR. lol. those russians sure know how to make warhorse weapons, I love my ak and mosin nagant.

Yugo SKS. Even though I love it I am finding myself wanting to switch to an AR variant of some sort, but don't know why. I cannot find any justification for the switch other than I just want to. Maybe in a year or two I will just add to the collection.

Rutger Mini 14. Loved it but could not hunt with it in PA. Sold it, Big Mistake. Paid about one hundred fifty bucks for it in the seventies, I think that is when I bought it.

Remmy 7400 in 270 which was stolen from my truck some 30 years ago. Getting stolen was the best thing that ever happened. Bought a BAR in 270 and have never bought another Remmington auto loader.

in 2003 i bought a ruger ss mini 14, which i traded for an ar15. i wanted the ar becuse it was close to what i shot in basic. well i didn't care for the ar15 all that much & missed the mini so much that i went & bought another one. overall my new mini has better sights & a better barrel. btw im going to hang on to this one.
