Im just trying to see what people think of W, do you think he was a good president or not. If given the chance, would you vote for him again?

We were all warned with his inept handleing of the Sammy Sosa trade and Harkin Oil. He screwed up everything he's ever touched. His fiscal policy has turned a Surplus of $ Billion into into a deficit of 4 Billion, reduced our rights, chose Chaney a lying cheat as VP and touner teh US from loved & admired into hated and loathed. He thinks the Constitution is "just a piece of paper", and should be impeached and tried for war crimes.

I wish we were rid of him already but...
We should rid ourselves anyone who voted that Shamnesty bill. IMO, none of those folk have our best interest on their agenda at all. Don't like the idea of a "north american union" nor some "new world order" one-world government.

1) Ain't dumb. You don't achieve what he's done if you're dumb. For instance, they don't let idiots fly jets, no matter who daddy is. Besides, he didn't manage to do really bonehead stuff, like flunk out of divinity school...
2) He's not a PR person. Nor is he a "people" person. He doesn't come across very well. He's not really a politician. He just got sorta put there. I don't think I'd mind working for him or with him.
3) Go back to Democratic Underground, and tell them that the message of "vote for anyone but a Republican" has been furthered.
Given the choice of him, Gore, Kerry, or Clinton (either), I'd vote for him again.

I voted for him twice, considering the alternative choices, he was the only one worth a damn.
I am getting Bush fatigue though, especially with this amnesty crap he is pushing.
I guess I will be saying the same thing about Fred Thompson in another 8 years.

I would really, really, really have liked the chance to vote for a real presidential candidate in '04.
In '00 Bush was the best choice: Cut taxes, reform the nation's retirement system, does not push for the AWB renewal, understands that oil comes from somewhere, etc.
Then Sept 11 happened and he starts talking like a bad parody of 1984.
Dept of Homeland Security? USA PATRIOT Act? Come on. That was bad, but I was willing to wait a little because I know poor George isn't good at communicating and the word "connotation" is some sort of Irish tribal name to him.
Then he goes into Iraq, which was sure to tie up valuable military resources for questionable gains at best. Worse, Iraq requires a complex, imperfect solution that the American public won't understand or accept. Acceptable solutions are to keep our hands off or nuke 'em til they glow and shoot 'em in the dark. Anything else is incomprehensible shades of gray.
Enter '04: The alternative is Kerry, who liked to shoot civilians and livestock and then come home and talk trash about what he did. Except he didn't take credit for the people he killed. Then he threw his medals from that war over the White House fence to protest. Oh, snap! He proudly displays his medals in his office in the Senate!
It was OK to undo the tax cuts because what's it to him? He's married to the heiress to the Heinz fortune. But wait! It gets better: He left his first wife (quite wealthy) for a wealthier woman! Yes, exactly the kind of commitment I like to see in a Presidential candidate.
I might as well bring up that he brought home an assault rifle as a souvenir from the war (where he generally ravaged Vietnam in a manner befitting Ghengis Khan) but it is not OK for me to own a semi-auto version of that same rifle. Then he had the temerity to say that if I want to get my hands on such a rifle I should join the U.S. military to fight in a war I don't support.
I guess actually setting a good example for the citizens he was going to lead was just a little too much for John Kerry.
So in the end I voted for Bush. He might have been stupid, giving valuable gov't contracts to cronies, and busily spying on U.S. citizens, but at least he wasn't a hypocritical vote whore who would have done the same things and taken away my guns. There lies what is possibly the single best thing Bush ever did: a fair number of Democrats suddenly understood why they are supposed to own military pattern rifles. The Democratic gun grabbing monolith suddenly started to show a few cracks.
Like I started with, I would really, really, really have liked to have had real candidates to choose from, not 3rd party wannabes, and not the two who were duking it out. Someone who I looked up to as a leader, who was good for the country, and who had a good shot at winning.

Given the choices at election time, I voted for Bush. I'd do it all over again, given the same choices. So far, in the last five elections, there has been nobody that truly "stood out". I even have some not so great impressions of Reagan because of the amnesty bill he got passed back in 86(?) However, he's been the best president during my voting years. I don't see any "shining stars" for the upcoming election at this point. There are some rumors, but.......

on Mexico, the boarder security, WTO, New World Order,

We're about to pick another very much like him...maybe a little smoother around the edges (Thompson). If GW ran again, I would vote for him, as much for his entourage as for him. Anyone who can handle his schedule has my admiration. Too bad he has to work with a do-nothing Congress. When it comes to giving religion a free rein in government, he's dangerous. Others are correct IMO. He was as good as it gets.

I am rather agnostic on the president. One thing to remember that the failure or success of many of any president's policies can only be measured long after they have left office. I have opinions on many of the Bush's policies, but I think measuring how well one particular president did is something that can only take place much farther down the road.

I was optimistic when I voted for him the first time. Less so the second time but the alternative was deplorable and that is coming from a Massachusetts resident.
How do I feel now, well if he were running(thank God he can't) against Gore, Kerry, or Hillary I would cast a defensive vote for him again, but I wouldn't be in the least optomistic about it. He has been a disaster for conservatives from the standpoint that we actually have to fight against him on many issues. But I feel he made great SCOTUS choices and that is probably the one good thing I can say about his term.
I saw a t-shirt on a left wing site that had a picture of Bush and the words "My Bad" under him. I considered buying one but didn't because the candidate the Democrats put up was unquestionably worse. If I had voted for Bush over a guy like Bill Richardson or Joe Lieberman I would be banging my head on my desk and wearing that shirt everyday.

IMO, he'll leave us with a really nasty present just before 1-20-09. Why else would he be pushing for dictator-like control over legislation so late in the game?
Maybe I place "being able to speak coherently" on too high of a platform. I'd rather have someone that can communicate their thoughts, no matter what they are.

That's the sad thing. When Clinton was president, I didn't think things could get any worse. Bush proved me wrong. Bush has out-spent Clinton by a mile, and Clinton's bogus wars in Kosovo and Mogadishu were relatively harmless compared to Bush's disastrously expensive, counter-productive war in Iraq.
Although it makes my skin crawl to say it, Bush makes me miss Clinton.
