I voted for Mao because I wanted Stalin less? This is simple stuff.

Actually, the correct play is to vote for Stalin. Mao has 60 million kills to his credit, more than twice Stalin's 30 million.

That is partly because Mao ruled a country with a much larger population. Give Stalin more people to rule and he would have been in Mao's vicinity when it comes to numbers.

He is OK, takes more flak than he probably deserves. I'd vote for him over any Democrat that's for sure, howver a real Republican would be nice.

Bush wasn't ready...what could he have done if 911 never occurred.

I honestly don't believe no one in that office could do better, not with the PC media of our time.

Look at it this way, he's not bad enough at being president that someone hasn't already put a hole in his head.

Imagine the how many times that will run through some heads if Hitlery and the Dems assume "buiness as usually" in 09.

Not bad enough at being president that someone would put a hole in his head, just think if Hitlery and the Democrats take power in 09 how many of you wish someone take "action".

FDR sucked, until WW II. WW II hid a multitude of sins. There's a new book out that's intriguing.
FDR was so attached to "Uncle Joe" that he basically handed him Eastern Europe on a silver platter. He's largely to blame for the iron curtain that fell and the cold war that followed.

I did not vote in the poll.

I voted for dubya both times, but I am not happy with him by any standards.

IMHO the worst POS to serve in the Oval Orifice was Carter -

He gave away the Panama Canal.

He allowed the ayatollah Khomeni to destroy Iran as a country, and turn it into a theocratic cesspool.

He gutted our intelligence services, worried that they might do something he might find reprehensible.

IMHO Carter best serves his country by swinging a hammer and keeping his piehole shut!

I will not deign to address the subject of Slick Wille. :barf:

Carter and Clinton, the worst.

Bush? I'd get blasted on this board for my thoughts. But in a nutshell......Some great thoughts and some not so great thoughts.

In general, I think his genuine thoughts for this country are for the good of it, in his opinion. He's is a man of conviction, that's for damn sure.

At the point when I heard him say that people who didn't support the amnesty bill didn't care about America, I washed my hands of him. The only problem with impeaching him is that then we'd end up with Cheney. That would not be an improvement. Impeach both of 'em and you end up with Nancy Pelosi.

Boy, have we gone you-know-where in the handbasket....:cuss:

Jeebus, another stupid push poll by the Bush bashers.

I don't hate Bush ... I don't much like him either, but I don't hate him.

I do hate Al Gore and John Kerry, so while I'd have much rather had a more fiscally conservative and vocally pro RKBA president that wouldn't have signed (let alone endorsed) the PATRIOT Act, I'd say we could have done a LOT worse (and anyone that thinks neither Gore nor Kerry would have gleefully signed the PATRIOT Act is either a liar or a fool).

FDR sucked, until WW II.

He may have sucked, but he knew how to run a war. No armchair quarterbacking from Washington. He put the war into the hands of George Marshall and Ernest King and let them fight it as they say fit. FDR just signed the checks and took the political heat.

The only thing Bush has done that I have liked is not renewing the AWB, the rest has been a giant disappointment

I voted for him both times, and if it were to be done again I would do the same! Bush is NO conservative but were Gore and Kerri to be in place we would likely be in far worse shape.

I voted for him four times, I only voted for his dad once.

If he was running again against any of the Dems that have announced I would vote for him again.

After watching every debate so far this year (both the dems and rep) there is no one that I am excited about.

GW has let me down on many fronts but I do not regret any of the votes when I look at the alternatives!

Voted for him twice, I am glad it is almost over. No, I am not entirely happy with him. I did not vote in the poll, needed a 4th choice: Good President, but it's time to move on. He still out shines any Democrat that has run against him.

I voted for Bush the first time, contributed to his campaign and tried to convince everyone I knew to vote for him, especially friends and relatives in the state of Florida. I regret all of the above. He administration has spent like a drunken LBJ and he has turned this country's foreign policy over to a neo-con elite that does not put the interests of America First.

Is he better than Gore? Perhaps ever so marginally but under Gore you would have had a very energized conservative groundswell. Remember the last few years of the Clinton debacle. The NRA enjoying unprecedented growth, skepticism in the govt. growing every day, folks getting organized, even the rise of civilian militias before some of them veered off into conspiracy land.

The problem with a fake conservative like Bush is that conservatives basically lay down and take it. It happened the same way with his father. Up until the immigration fight the only other time conservatives stood up to this fraud was when he nominated his flunkie Harriet Myers to the Supreme Court. Bush eventually wound up with a pretty good nominee in Alito but it was not by choice.

Unfortunately when Bush said "jump", the conservative response was almost always "how high"?

He is a good, honest and honorable man who thinks 10 years into the future. It is such a shame he fails horribly in the communications department. Unlike other past presidents, just about everything he said he would do, while president, he has done. If he were able to run again, and after some soul searching, I'd probably give him the vote one more time.

Lesser of two evils huh?

Worst or second worst ever.
I voted for what I perceived as the lesser of two evils both in 2000 and 2004 and it wasn't for Bush, To my great shame I voted for Democrats in those elections for the first and second time in my voting history. I shoulda voted my principles but Bush scared me so bad I got confused.
I admit at the time I wasn't thinking much about RKBA because I was thinking more about the other American past time of driving racecars fast.
In my opinion Cheney, Rove, his hand puppet W and the rest of the crew have been absolutely horrible for us as a nation. Billions of dollars wasted, thousands of our troop injured or killed in a country that had zip to do with 9/11. Osama and his henchmen still on the loose. The Patriot Act. Croneyism and the most amazing incompetence being rewarded. They have spent the last 7 years using fear of the "other" whether it be Islamist, Christian, rich, poor, gays wanting to get married or whoever to divide us and line their pockets and promote agendas that at best seems badly thought out and mismanaged and at worst are treasonous. They have been authoratative, power mad, secretive wackjobs from the start and haven't mellowed with age.
On the plus side Bush and co got me back into shooting and thinking about my government (thought I might have to vote from a rooftop or two), I've become more active politically and at ArmedBears urging I sent Ron Paul 50.00 today, the first time I have ever given money to a candidate.
