Like coltm and I said, you can get a new Stoeger Condor 12ga or 20ga for your $400. They come with either 26" or 28" barrels and they have screw in chokes(IC and Mod included). I'd go with the longer 28" barrel for all the clay target sports. The choke tubes are the winchester/mossberg type...

It ain't no problem. You'll get used to it. I used one all season for Ducks, geese, cranes, and quail. It sure takes the thump outa those 3" mag steel shot loads.

The Winchester promo shells (1275 fps) were $3.97 a box at Wal Mart before Christmas. They are now $5.68 a box. I found some Winchester Super Target (1200 fps) at a gun shop for $4.50 so I bought 20 boxes. They aren't going to get any cheaper.

You may have a lot of work getting the lead out of the rifling. It won't hurt the gun.

Sounds like a squib load (under powered). As long as the bullet left the barrel you don't need to do anything. Maybe get better ammo. LOL

Fiocchi and Sellier and Bellot both make excellent ammo. I wouldn't give it a second thought on buying it. But buy 00 Buck. As far as patterns go, at 20 feet there isn't much of one. (12" dia or less) Check out this link and opt for 00 buck for better penetration...
