Stevens 110E series K .30-06 with a Redfield 3-9 wide field scope. I got it for $250 from a local pawn shop. The weapon was marked down because of a camo paint job done, very well, by the previous owner. Im not sure how it was painted or sprayed, but It looked stock to me. No visible wear marks in the usual place. Before I bought it I tried rubbing off some paint, but It was on there good.
I haven't fired it yet, but It does everything else fine. The bolt action works smooth, a round loads correctly, it extracts and ejects smoothly and the next round gets chambered. The tag says it has a bullet capacity of 3+1, but the rifle holds and operates fine with 4 rounds. The fourth round isn't jammed in, but the rifle feels like it can hold 4 rounds by design. Am I messing up?
I'm also having a problem finding some solid info on this weapon. Most of my searches lead to Savage model 110's. Could someone shed some light on this Stevens rifle?
If anybody has any rifle wisdom they believe could benefit, please post. I'll be using this rifle for target shooting mostly and maybe hunting in the future.
