i've fired about 400 rounds through my sub2000 gen2 and I haven't seen any issues with the front sight block moving or the front sight pin wandering although I haven't needed to adjust anything. my gun came dialed in at 50 yards out of the box, and I haven't messed with it.

I'm not doubting his findings....but I'm not sure how Nutnfancy could shoot enough rounds through a gun to make a 1 hour Youtube review and yet just now come across these issue?? also strange that nobody else has reported the entire front sight block wondering on the gen2s if it is truly a design-related issue....I've certainly heard of issues with the front sight adjustments but not the entire front sight block and/or front rail moving around. :(

I haven't had any problems with mine, either. Seems that the thread loc on mine was pretty solid, as it needed heat to remove the thread protector nut. I guess we will hear about it from others if it is indeed a real problem.

I got a question. If you take the thread protector nut off. Will the front sight come off? Ive been debating on taking if off and put some kind of flash hider on it

No, the front sight will stay on: it is threaded @ 9/16" - 24.
Threads under protector nut are ½" - 28 for the 9mm S2K-G2.
I've put a linear compensator on mine with no problems.

anyone have experience using thread adapters to install a functional muzzle device???

*edit* Plenty of 9mm muzzle devices out there, but very few with the 1/2 x 28 threading....I feel like someone could really capitalize if they produced & sold a muzzle device(s) specifically designed for use with the Sub2000's rifle length barrel. i know people have questioned their functionality in such applications(particularly with the 9mm)....but regardless, it seems like all the 9mm muzzle devices I could find were either built for pistols or they have a different thread pattern.

well thats the thing, I've found a few brake/comp hybrids that were designed for 9mm ARs but most utilized a different thread pattern....I'm thinking these would work best with the sub2000's rifle length barrel. I'll try to get some links tomorrow when I have more time to search around online.

the problem with the majority of 1/2x28 9mm devices I've found so far is that they were designed with pistols in mind and would look quite hideous on the Sub2000.

Replace front sight post

...The conical aperture of this peep really helps my old eyes

Replaced the front sight post with one from KNS Precision. :D

Painted the tip for a little contrast.

With a little help from the new sights, it's made all the difference.......20 yards today.

Let's see if we can stretch it out a little ~ 50 yards for the next session.

I've oft thought of a Sub2k to carry in the car on road trips. Same mags as my G19 Gen 4, but with greater accuracy and stopping power.

Ask & you shall receive, seek & you shall find.... Good news for you, Cooldill :D
The Glock 19 version of the Gen 2 is out in the marketplace; I wish you luck in your search. :what:
(Maybe @ CDNN Sports)

Kel-Tec has molded this Gen 2 version instead of lopping-off the lower grip of the Gen 1, as in past interations.
You'll be able to get some carbine-use out of those 15 round mags ~ sweet!

wow thats the first one i've actually seen...very cool!

there's no doubt that the grip is specifically molded either, the G17 version has 3.5 squares of their gator-grip pattern going vertical down the sides of the grips....the picture above clearly shows just 2.5 squares of that same pattern. however, i just checked CDNN and didn't see any sub2000s listed at all. :(

Had an opportunity to test new iron sights at the Wicen's range recently:

With the majority falling in an inch band about 6" wide, I'm curious if the sight post spring tension (mentioned in the nutn'fancy test disclaimer) is contributing to the horizontal string..... ...along with my old eyes.....

Does anyone find that the placement of the charging handle makes it difficult to clear malfunctions? Thinking of buying one of these for the bedroom closet, but apprehensive about how unintuitive the charging handle seems. Have not had opportunity to handle one yet.

the charging handle ergonomics definitely seem awkward at first but it is not as big of a deal as you would think...the gun has a very unique weight distribution and balance which actually allows you to push the stock into your sternum and charge it completely one handed.

..and honestly, I just don't foresee many malfunctions with this gun especially if you intend to keep it in a bedroom; one of the S2K's major strengths is that it just shoots every time you pull the trigger. the biggest thing you need to worry about with the charging handle is keeping any loose hair or long beards from getting caught in it or pinched between the stock sleeve and buffer tube.

Looked at the Beretta Storm carbine at the LGS today. It was a 45ACP which I really didn't want, but other than that it was a nice u it. Trigger was heavy but I understand there are improvement parts out.

I may visit a shop next week that has Sub2K in-stock.

DESIGN ISSUE WITH THE KELTEC SUB 2000 2GEN? So is this a one off or is this an issue with this carbine? Only one person seems to note that this is a design flaw or am I missing something....Thinking about getting one.

SpodWo, if I had to make a comment, it would be that the front sight assembly is functional on the S2K-G2.
The review from the Nutn'fancy crew was changed after the front sight assembly came loose on the carbine they were testing.
FWIW, mine is solid after approx. 1K rounds. I'm only aware of one other individual who had the same problem; it seems rather insignificant to the number that have been sold.
Good luck if you decide to buy a Gen 2; I'm very happy with mine :D
