So I had the slide off my brand new G17 Gen 5 when I fumbled it over our tile floor...appears to have landed on the back corner slide rail which bent the rail and now two visible cracks are present. This is the second time I've seen this happen to a glock slide that was dropped.
Glock wants $200 to replace the slide but it will have a different serial number (not sure if this is an issue as this is one of my personally owned off duty guns, gotta check with armorer on Monday)
I guess my options as I see them are to bite the bullet and replace the slide, or keep the mags and write the rest of it off.
3rd option...wait for aftermarket slides or 22 upper for the Gen 5s and turn it into a range toy?
Any input?
