What guns have you wanted but just couldn't justify paying the price?

I'm sure we all have a few guns in this category. We want one but for one reason or another just can't justify its price tag even if we can afford it. I have two that come to mind right away for me. First, I just can't justify the price for a high end 1911. I don't shoot anywhere near enough to have the skill to get any use out of the higher build quality plus dropping the price of a used car on a gun just seems crazy to me. My second one is a Mosin Nagant. I would love to add one to my collection, but, be it pride or pig-headedness, I refuse to pay current prices for one when I remember seeing them at my local Dunham's Sports for $69 not that many years ago. What about you folks? What guns are out there that you would like to have but just can't justify the price?

1) SIG P210
2) SIG P229 Legion Compact SAO
3) CZ 75 Tactical Sport Orange
4) Dan Wesson Pointman 38 PM-38
5) Colt Gold Cup
6) Ed Brown CCO18-SS
7) Beretta Model 92 FS Fusion
8) Pardini GT 9
9) Colt SAA
10) S&W Model 27 5" barrel

Sharps .45-70
Garand
2 I have never owned, always wanted, could never justify the cost, when neither will do anything that my present collection isn't capable of. I realize that neither is THAT expensive, but they are for me at the moment. I will probably end up with one or both eventually, but not for the foreseeable future. Maybe a retirement present to myself (got a while for that).

Anything from Bowen, Linebaugh, or Freedom Arms (at least currently). Which is making buying the .475 Linebaugh I have no business owning, rather difficult.

I have always wanted a Wilson Combat but always seem to spend the available gun/fun money (usually on other guns) before I can save up enough money.

M1A....I've lusted after a M1A scout squad in a walnut stock for years, just cant bring myself to part with the cash.
I'd also like a Mini 14 in walnut, but the price just seems a bit steep for what they are.
But, then again, I thought I'd never spend over $500 on any one firearm...and that went out the window a few years back

Not justifying BECAUSE I haven't won the Lotto:
Perazzi
Bertuzzi
David McKay Brown
Fabbri

(all high end Italian shotguns)

Sig P210
Anything Wilson, Baer, or Brown
Terry Tussey custom 1911

A nice Sauer 404 with takedown case (the case is $600 alone)
A Verney-Carron double rifle

A whole lot of stuff. I generally just stay patient and wait for a 'good deal" to happen. Sometimes it does. I would say the 2 I would like to get hold of now is a Johnson M1941 and a Sp1 Colt.

Ok well I guess I'm a little on the cheaper side of want. All the guns I see here are up there. So I really don't need anymore guns but the one I wanted to get was the Honor Guard 9 mm but it was right at the time the drop safety problem came out so I went with the Walther PPS M2 LE. But that's the one I'd like to get some day. Maybe.

As 1911's go about $1,200 is my max. I do have a Wiley Clapp Government that I paid about $1,100.00 for. Money well spent. I would like to have a Les Baer or Dan Wesson Valor but over $1,200 my interest falls off a cliff.

.50 BMG long range rifle. I always wanted one of the big fifties, and I do shoot long range as my primary sport. But, I just haven't been able to justify the expense on this one yet.

M1A.

Did the homework, checked them out at gun shows.

Went to a show with buying one in mind.

Looked at it. Walked around. Looked at it again.

Talked myself out of it. Seemed like too much coin for a toy I would shoot a couple three times a year.

Ended up buying a Garand from the CMP for a touch less than half of what the M1A would have cost.

Still feel pretty good about it.

I can tell you my Valor was well worth it, but I didnt pay for a new one and waited a long darn time for the right deal. A lot of my choices revolve around whether the deal is right, and whether I think they will gain value. Also if something else does the same thing, is of comparable quality and looks the same....why pay more? (Example; ruger vaqueros vs colt SAAs.) Colts are nicer I will admit but dang, my Ruger feels nice, looks beautiful and is dead nuts accurate. Cant justify paying 4 times as much for a colt. For anything but collectors value. But I would rather play and shoot my guns!
Things i have always wanted but probably will never own because of cost;
Dan wesson Bruin 10mm
Accuracy international rifle
Noreen bad news 338 lapua
Full on custom 1911
Colt Python
Colt SAA
Another Colt Anaconda (kicking myself for selling it)
New freedom arms revolver(might go for a deal on a used one though.)
Rossi 92 454 casull (sorry they are just not worth what they are selling for.)
Amt automag
Having a hard time with an m1a but probably will sooner or later.
Mosin. They are not worth the cost. Should have done that 7 years ago.... 50 times.
AK47s. Again should have done that a while back. They aren't worth current asking prices imho.
L.A.R. Grizzly pistol. Super cool but my 460 Rowland 1911 costed me less than 1k after every thing was said and done.
English double rifles,
Fancy engraved revolvers
Those beautiful engraved fancy shotguns in the display cabinets at Bass Pro shops and Cabelas

There are Probably others but that's all I can think of right now
