Solvent trap

Looking around on the internet it looks like if you buy a solvent trap from "over seas" like from some where like wish dot com and the department of Homeland Security confiscates them because they look like a silencer and send you a letter telling you that you narrowly avoided getting a felony and if you want it to get an approved form 1, come to Illinois and come get it... which at that point you would be in possession of a silencer in a state that bans silencers and be trying to transport it interstate.
From everything I have heard and read, don't ever buy anything from wish dot com.

Buy American and don't live in Illinois or Michigan.

I bought a quiet bore solvent trap, laser engraved for a little under $300. There are cheaper ones, but I wanted a niceish one that's serviceable. The cheapest no moving parts serviceable commercially made 9mm silencers typically start at $400.
Supposedly the eForm ones are coming back a lot faster than any type of form 4.
When it comes in I'm going to do my first eform 1. So this might be a good way to get cheap silencers and a tax stamp back a lot faster than ones on a form 4.

Don't have it in possession yet.
Since I had quiet bore engrave my name, place of manufactur and model, serial number on there I'm hesitant to send off a form 1 incase the can don't show up.

Seems that a capped tube would not be hard to create, and baffles shouldn’t be hard either, but perhaps less easily done by someone who doesn’t have a lathe handy.

If what I read is 20% true the eForm ones are coming back a lot faster than any kind of form 4, snail mailed or silencer shop electronic.

*** no wonder quiet bore and like are sold out.
The big manufacturers should be on the NFAs arse to speed it up a lot. My last 2 silencer shop form 4s took around 330 days.

Anyone know how long for a form 1 DD firearm?

It's hard to prove I intend to break the law when I have 8 tax stamps, mostly on silencers and I intend to send off an eForm 1 the 1st or 2nd day its in my possession.
What if I get the tax stamp, I order it all nice and laser engraved with my name and SN, they send it with a tracking number, it disappear half way here and I never get it?

I have access to a lathe, or you just buy the drilling fixture. The quiet bore one is like $75.

I set the bar pretty low. It only has to "hold up" to 380acp out of a 16 inch barrel.
It sounds like a 22LR but makes 9mm holes.

I decided I like silencers, got some and then decided that waiting 10 months sucks.

It's incredibly naive to think you aren't violating Federal law by possessing an unregistered NFA firearm.....as shown by you understanding the process for your previous eight stamps.

Can't fire anything through it. It would be as effective as sticking the muzzle against the ground and pulling the trigger until the end caps and baffles are drilled out.

Signed a form 4 electronically from silencer shop that was sent to my email for a silencerCo osprey the other day. It sure seems electronic to me.
