What is the most recent knife you bought?

Here’s a weird one. Design by Jelly Jerry. Kansept Knives Delta. Three deployment methods. Though the front flipper is impossible for me. Studs and regular flipper work great though. 3.54” S35VN.

The carbon fiber inlay is really nicely done. Action is great.

Edit: Before anyone says it, yes I know the recurve will be harder to sharpen. I’m not scared.
I plan to get a KME or other system and stones meant to sharpen recurved blades.

Spyderco Poliwog M4 steel. This thing is about as odd looking as they get, but the ergonomics are ridiculously good.

I think the Poliwog is a vastly underrated knife. The ergos are excellent.

I got two of the early ones with the stainless steel slabs (one to keep mint).

By the way... When did THR go from being able to post pics directly to their server, to needing an image hosting site...? o_O

ETA: Yeesh, everyone please ignore my last comment above. I had a MASSIVE brain fart...

I posted it direct so maybe just an error?

Yep -- thanks, SteadyD... It was dumb ol' me having the Mother of All Brain Farts... I was clicking on the image icon in the tool bar instead of the "Upload a File" button...

Anyway, this is the pic I wanted to post along with my response to you. I don't have an individual pic of my Poliwog(s), but I have a "group photo"... :)

I’m surprised BladeHQ picked such an oddball for an exclusive but I’m glad they did.

I think that's a function of how the detent ball in the lock works. I think tuning the detent for flipping action must be mutually exclusive to tuning it for thumb stud/hole opening. I've seen multiple knives that brag about having multiple deployment methods, but my experience with them was the a knife that has a flipper will not really have a functionally useful thumb stud or hole opening or vice versa. The Lionsteel TRE was like this.

Yeah that makes sense. I like my pivot a little tighter than some and closing action to be shake shut, not drop shut.

works fine for the traditional flipper and thumb studs, but it’s probably impeding the front flipper action.

I’m a newbie to front flippers too, so also not helping.

I only have one front flipper and it’s a lot of fun to play with, but as a means for easily opening a knife one handed when needed I prefer other methods.

I liked 460shooters so much, I bought one.

Nice! How do you find the ergos? I find the finger groove, or choil, or whatever you want to call it, to be a little too large, so the point hits me squarely in the middle finger. It's not uncomfortable per say, but I could see it being a little annoying if being used for a long cutting session.

Fortunately mine came pretty dang sharp and it seems to glide though everything pretty easily so far. Don't get me wrong, I like it plenty, but ergo wise it's probably my oddest knife. In fact it came so sharp I used it to shave my face a little the other day and see if I could do it. Only knife I've had come sharper is my Spyderco Yojumbo.

I definitely agree about finger groove. That point right behind it really digs into my middle finger when gripping tight. And a sharp knife indeed!

My biggest complaint is that mine takes more force than necessary to flip the action, especially for a $200 knife. I have a few cheap $25 knives that activate with not more than touch and smooth as silk. I’m thinking it will ease with a few hundred flips.

As an aside, the only way I can work the front flipper is by actually using both flippers at the same time, using my thumb and index finger while gripping.

Hmmm. Mine came perfect in that regard, but I agree. A few hundred flips and I bet it'll break in. I put a drop of oil in the action also and it smoothed it out a bit.

The knife is from the same company, it's the Hazakura. They have a drop point called the Helix, I was about to buy but then I saw the above.

I can tell I'll be buying more knives from them.

I want the Kansept Shard also.

These are Armored Farmer's fault. Never had a black SAK. Problem solved. Never had any ALOX SAK. Problem solved. Never had a Farmer. Problem solved. Kind of surprising, but even SAK must be having supply chain issues. Took a little looking to find both of these in stock at the same supplier (KnifeCenter). I do believe that red one has a spot already in the truck console.:) Not totally sure about the black one. Probably in the drawer to be carried at random with most of the rest of them.

Edit: That saw on the Farmer is a lot more saw than I ever expected. Impressed.
