Ruger countdown here we go again

And now, for Ruger's next innovation:

a direct copy of the Kel-Tec PF9

:neener:

Jeff Quinn, from Gunblast, already said that the polymer frame Blackhawk was a joke. He said that he'd be posting a review on the new gun on 1/4/2010.

My guess is that it is a high capacity, polymer framed 1911. I'd love to see Ruger make something similiar to the Wilson Combat KZ45. I'd probably 0go for that. I just hope that it is not an SR40 or a SR45. The M&P would be my choice over an SR9, SR40, or a SR45.

Other than a polymer framed 1911, the only other gun that I'd like to see would be another DA revolver. I think that Ruger makes the best DA revolvers on the market. I'd like to see a new and improved large framed DA revolver. A hybrid of the Redhawk and the Super Redhawk. I'd love to see it offered with an eight shot .357 cylinder.

My last hope would be for a DA .22 lr revolver.

Nothing else would even remotely interest me at this point...

I can see I'm not the only one...The Ruger SP-101s in .22LR were dropped before I could buy a handgun and then went up in price on the used market...

I think that chambering the LCR in .22LR and possibly .22Mag could be pretty cool...and give the options of both short and long barrels. You know, something lightweight to compete with the S&W Mdl 317.

Or chambering the GP-100 in .22LR could be cool, too.

oh boy. can't wait for jeff quinn to print how it "performed flawlessly" like always...

Sub-MOA, I'm sure. If it's a rifle, probably 0.5 MOA.

My predictions for the video:

"Had this new one from Ruger for a couple days now and been shootin' it some..."

"It's a nice lil' gun, an we gon' see how she shoots to show how it handles recoil"

"good sights on it"

commentary about obvious cosmetic features of the gun

information about who played the 10 second intro song and what guitar it was played on

shooting rapidly to slide lock

and text:

general recap of the purpose of a defensive pocket gun (to excuse poor accuracy), furthering of political agenda, absolute reliability of the hand-selected test gun sent to him by the factory, defending an internal locking device...

making excuses along the lines of there already being guns that serve the intended purpose better, more accurate, powerful, reliable, less expensive, etc...but this one is special because sometimes a man just needs a little gun that's fun to mess around with.

Ha, pretty much spot on with Mr. Quinn's "reviews". Betcha he's amassed quite an impressive collection of demo product...

Manufacturers normally do not "give" a gun to folks like Jeff Quinn when they test one. It is a loaner. But they usually offer a very good price below wholesale if they want to keep it.

Didn't Quinn say he never saw a gun he didn't like. That said, I enjoy his reviews and frankly they are often better than anything you see in the magazines.

Re: Quinn. Hell, half the guys on THR never shot a gun they didn't like, and you can bet the loaners have had a bit of testing before being sent to reviewers. Quinn does illustrate that some ammo works better that others and I have seen him report on a failure. If you are really interested in the gun and not just enjoying the video, then think about what he may have left out, e.g. if he doesn't make a point of how accurate it is, then perhaps it's not very accurate.

Refresh your browser. I've got 20 hours 26 minutes on the website timer.

For a minute there, I thought they'd recalled their release date...

Rugers new quantum hyperbolic phased array nuclei focusing 88 megawatt range reverse osmosising (new technical word) photo symmatic (ditto) electron redirecting ciriculum (WOW!) cracking isotope particle decay accelerating deuterium-phyz reacting mox reprocessing PU-283 proliferating curium decomposing firearm!

Just what we need! lol hehehehe

maybe a 6 shot LCR in 327 magnum, an LCR in 22 magnum with optional 22lr cylinder, or would they just come out with an LCP in 32 ACP

We're down to 8 hours to our "new" 1911 ;)

I want:

1) A re-design of the 22/45. It should have removeable grip panels and a safety lever interchangeable with the replacements currently available for 1911's.

2) A mannlicher-stocked 96/44, preferably one available in stainless/laminate.

3) Ruger needs a pump shotgun (hey, they blew millions developing a $3000 side-by-side, why not a $500 pump). Preferably with the tang-safety of a Mossberg 500 and the steel receiver of a Remington 870. Oh, and all-stainless would be really cool!!!

4) A special run of M77 RSI's (mannlicher) with the old "flat-bolt" bolt handle.

Looks like it is going to be a New Model Blackhawk and a GP100 in .327 Federal Magnum. Hopefully there's more to the news than just that. I guess we'll know in 4 hours.
