CCW in a Kilt

CoRoMo, can't help but think about were those straps would go if I were to wear a skirt...umm, I mean kilt...prospects not looking so good. :uhoh:

You know what? I'm thinking IWB would actually work pretty well. It depends on the kilt of course, but concealing in a sporran has the same issues that ladies and purses have. If I get a chance, I'll throw together a little somthin and take pics.

We've had guys that wear kilts address the concealed carry issue before.

It's no different than anyone else. You carry IWB or OWB. Remember that modern kilts have belts and belt loops like pants.

Neokilt builds it in.

^ What he said. I'd rather go that route (IWB on a belt) than wear that crazy man-thong looking thigh rig.

Or sew a hidden compartment into your bagpipe. :D

Check your local laws. In NC we have to go concealed or open, no combination of the two or it is a misdemeanor. In that case, I'd need to make sure my kilt was long enough to cover my barrel on a windy day. :scrutiny:

Stick a pistol with a fancy grip in the top of your sock. Nobody will say anything.

Or carry a Black Watch flintlock pistol. I believe it has a belt hanger on the left side.

Another possibility: NeoKilt offers a CCW Kilt as an option.

Think about where the slide would be headed during an ND. Two ball, hip pocket!

You can carry IWB, or OWB with a cover shirt. Really no different then when you wear pants.
I make my own kilts, and make oversized pockets that I can carry either my Ruger SP101, or my Detonics Combat Master.
Now if you go Commando, IWB may chafe a little.:D

+1 for sporran carry...but you could always have a gun pocket sewn into your kilt. Or use a shoulder holster under an Argyll or Prince Charlie jacket.

Is this the same with NH? that law makes no sense.

Real old style kilts were a single large piece of wool cloth like a blanket that was not only gathered around the waist, but also passed over one shoulder.
That's where they frequently hid the skhin dhub (sp?) hide out knife. Kind of an early shoulder holster knife (pre gun concealed carry)
