For pistol I would guess I shoot .22 LR, 9MM, .38 Super, .38 Spl, light .357, and .45 ACP the most, then .32 Long, .32 Mag, .38 S&W, .44 Spl, and .45 Colt second most, then .32 ACP, .32-20, .41 Mag, and .44 Mag the least, and .400 Corbon occasionally.

For rifle it would be .223, 300 Blackout, .22 Hornet, .222 Mag, .308, .458 Win Mag, .35 Rem, .30-06 in that approximate order. I gave my .30-30 to my son, but it was shot a good bit prior to that.

Why? Enjoyment, price, favorite platform(s), mood. Some days I am in the mood to shoot my Benelli in .32 Long, or my S&W in .32 Mag, or my 586 in .357, or my Redhawk in .41 or .44 Mag, or my Colt 1911 in .45 ACP, or my Witness in .38 Super. I'm ADHDHADADHHD....D

Approximately. :)

I looked at my load log last night. Of 12 entries, all but one were 5.56...so I guess that is the one.

Only reason is the AR is the newest rifle in the safe.

That other reload entrant... .45acp. That is the newest gun in the safe.

For pistol, I cannot decide between .45 ACP and .38 Special. I carry a 45, so I went with that on the poll.

Rifle, toss up between .308 Winchester and .22 Hornet'.

I shoot more pistol than rifle.

Good question.

I voted for the .22lr as I easily shoot more rounds of that than any othe. But if .22lr weren't included in the poll (and I don't think it should have been), it would have been a toss up between 9mm and .357 magnum.

This summer its been PPC with a model 586 S&W in .357 and two Ruger Vaqueros in .357. Both with .38 loads.

Normally its .45 ACP but not so much this summer. Not that many matches locally.

Rifle .45 Colt for SASS and .222 for fun in a model 7 Remington.

Also 12 ga. for SASS.

Deer hunting 7mm-08 in a model 7 Remington and .358 Winchester in a rebarreled Remington model 7.

9MM handloads, 115 grain FMJ +P+ are 70 percent of my pistol shooting, and 40S S&W with handloaded 155 FMJ are at least 20 percent.

5.56X45 handloads M193 ball is 95 percent of my rifle shooting.

I drag out a dozen other calibres once in a while, bit they are a small portion of my overall shooting.

Really enjoy occasionally shooting my NM M-1 Garand, rebarreled to 7.62X51 that I used in competition long ago..:)

Nowadays, 22mag and .410 for vermin around the house. In years past 45 acp and colt for hand gun. 12 ga for shotguns .308, 22lr and 22-250 for rifles.

I shoot more 38 specials than anything else. Given large supplies of old (cheap) components and casting bullets from free wheel weights, I can probably reload them for less than 22lr's cost these days. Also, I have a good number of revolvers and several Contenders that take the cartridge.

I actually spend more time shooting flintlocks and C&B revolvers but don't get off as many shots due to the slow loading.

I shoot 22LR the most... 200 to 300 rounds on a single range visit.. I shoot in a 22 seniors league. I also shoot My EDC weekly... Im 70 years old and carry a 45 ACP 230 grain +P JHP as my EDC, every waking hour. I shoot 60 rounds a month, just to keep my edge.. I shoot what I carry and with the round I carry for personal defense.. I can also shoot 500 rounds of .177 from one of my PCP air rifles or pistol on a single range visit. I vote in the poll 22LR. although pellets may not be a fair comparison I shoot a fair amount.
while I shoot .22, 22 mag, 357 mag, 38, .380, 25 ACP, 9mm, , 45 ACP, 30-06, 25-06, 12, 20 , 28 shotgun. 22lr is the most by volume, not counting .177 pellets.

"44 Special

I love those powerful, soft shooting little single actions. I have and like the Rugers...but I have and LOVE the Cimarrons."

Like shootniron I enjoy shooting the single action revolvers especially my Cimarrons. Only I prefer the 45 Colt. I have a set of their Evil Roy Model P 5 1/2" barrel in 45 Colt. An incredible trigger and finish to an already great pistol. If you haven't handled a Cimarron SAA you really need to get your hands on one. I have a single action Ruger, but it's a Single Six in .22LR/.22WMR. The perfect camp pistol IMHO.

It used to be .22, followed by 12 gauge.

The .22 situation is still too stupid, so I think it's going to be 9mm or 7.62x39 from here out.

7.62x54r 99%of the time for the last 5 years with the occasional 45acp and a couple hundred 22lr's thrown in along the way.
