FWIW, here in KS you are able to legally carry concealed into a bar, provided it is not posted with the "Gunbuster." However, if you carry into a bar, you'd better not be drinkin'!
Another +1 for the Sig P6. I carry mine all the time, and you simply can't beat the price for a great gun.
I'm not a Glockthumper, but I love my G19. While it's probably a little bit out of the price range (mine was $519???) it conceals pretty well on me (6' 190lbs). I don't have a pistol...
I heard the same thing about FMJ vs JHP ammo afterbuying my P6, so I was a little worried. I've fed it some Wally World Remington JHPs, some of my reload JHPs, and 147 gr Gold Dots and it ate them all up without a hitch. Looks like I got a good one!
Mine is only a few weeks old to me, and I've only shot it once. It did great. Very accurate and reliable...my wife loved it! It didn't like my reloads, but they were pretty lightly charged loads so I'm not surprised.
I shot a mix of WWB 115gr FMJ, Blazer Aluminum, Wally World's finest...
The way I read that, you're loading the mag in the gun, then bringing the slide back, then dropping the bullet in the chamber, then releasing the slide. That spells double feed to me.
I've always heard it's not wise to chamber load because it could harm the extractor, as their made for the...
Just bought this one and today was the 2nd time carrying it! My Sig P6.
Or, my HK USPc 9mm
Or, a Kahr PM9 (not my gun, but looks like it)
Or, a Glock 19...and you all know what that looks like. :D
My wife bought me one yesterday for my birthday...isn't she great? Obviously, I haven't gotten to shoot it yet, but it feels GREAT in my hands. The finish is still in very good condition, can't wait to shoot it. To the OP, why not pick one up? For around $300 they're a steal, and if you...
I don't remember your other post, but did you polish the feed ramp with a Dremel? Worked wonders for our PM9, although it still needs a bit more to clear up all the failures.
Don't quote me on this, but if you've handled a full-size steel Baby Eagle, then the CZ75 will probably feel pretty similar. I had a BEagle and really liked it.
What will your gun's purpose be? Planning on concealing it, or just for the range, or both?
I'm no Glock thumper by any means...
I was going to say a CZ75B as well. Although I've never owned/shot one, they're supposed to be excellent and fit within your budget. Either a CZ75 Compact Stainless or Sig P6 will probably be my next pistol.
You could look at an XD-9sc, M&Pc, or Glock 19/26. Beretta's new PX4sc is out, but I...
You could buy a stripped lower receiver and then buy a rifle kit from places such as AR15sales.com or Del-ton.com. The rifle kit will have an assembled upper receiver, a LPK (Lower Parts Kit), and a stock. You have to build up the stripped lower, but that's not hard to do. I built mine with...
MadMerc hit the nail on the head with reasons why I sold my XD9sc away, too. Felt top heavy and, even for its size, it just didn't conceal right for me, but I can conceal my larger Glock 19 quite a bit better.
I did like the gun though. It was reliable and very accurate for that 3" barrel...
I have the Midwest Industries Extended Carbine length rail and thought it would be cool to have one of these on the top in front of the front sight, but I don't think it will fit. Cool idea though.

Here's the rail...
