Glock 20 or Kimber, perhaps? An XD would beat them both, IMO
I just picked up the Wilson 10mm today at a gun show. I haven't shot it today, but maybe tomorrow.
As the owner of a Glock 20 & 29, a Delta Elite, 2 10mm Kimbers, a Razorback (S/N 51, I think) and an Ed Brown custom 10mm, I just couldn't resist the Wilson.
Of the 10mm's I've shot I like the Ed Brown best. It is smooth, accurate, and just a pleasure to shoot. But the G20, for 1/5 the price of the Brown, is my second choice. It seems to absorb the recoil of full loads better than the 1911-style pistols and it functions flawlessly after at least 10,000 rounds. For a reasonably priced 1911-style 10mm I'll go with the Kimber. I've shot a couple thousand rounds through it with no issues.
I'm very happy to see Wilson 10mm mags, too. I've got a bunch of Colts, some Kimbers, some Chip McCormicks and a few more exotic brands...all of which often fail to lock back the slide on my various 1911-style pistols. My best results have been with Mec-Gars. But I'll be bringing a bunch of 10mm's to the range to see how the Wilson mags work.
One last point...if only Springfield would make a 10mm XD it would be a great pistol. Hi-cap with a small grip and good ergonomics and a good price.
