No such thing as too many 22s

Just like you can never have too much camo or ammo, you can never have too many 22's.

Ruger Mk II Target - 10" bull, blue - eats most anything - fun with subsonics and people keep asking me if it is a suppressed model.

Ruger KSP 10/22-22 (aka walmart stainless special) -- 3-9x30 scope on see-through mounts, swivel bipod -- loves steady diet of CCI Stingers and great fun double tapping cans at long range. Am going to be adding a new trigger soon. Any insight on Volquartsen vs. Hornet vs. Timney? Feedback appreciated.

Ruger Super Single Six - 5.5" barrel - w/extra bird head grip frame. Which of course got me to liking the 22 WMR . . .

Marlin 882 - 22WMR, bolt-action, 22" blued - 4x32 scope on see-through mount.

AMT Automag II - 22WMR, 6" stainless, Millet-type sights.

And so it goes . . . .

Hi...

I'm skoro and I'm a 22-a-holic.

Years ago, I had a single bolt-action 22LR and it seemed to be enough. Somewhere along the line, I caught the bug. ;)

Autoloaders and Subsonics

To answer Red Tornado's question - yes my Mark II will cycle subsonics - given a clean and well-oiled condition. Surprisingly, my 10-22 will also cycle subsonics - given the same conditions. With the 22" barrel - that one is _very_ quiet when using subsonics.

I have not tried to run a mag of subsonics through either of them "rapid fire" - but at a moderate well-aimed pace.

I'm finding that just like my guns, I tend to like a certain cartridge for certain jobs - and that tends to drive my gun purchases.

I'm liking the subsonics so much that I'm now looking for a nice simple bolt-action 22LR for short-range subsonic plinking and rabbit hunting.

DMK & skoro: y'all definitely have the addiction... I suggest that you go to your local gun shop of choice, and get a new one before the twitching starts to get worse... if it's gotten worse, adopt two new 22's and give them a good home, feed them well, and often... and of course, let them play with their cousins....

LOL

c'mon now... this can't be all the 22-a-holics... I know there's more of you in the closet... come on out... it's ok to love your 22's... Come on... No one will laugh at you...

:D

Good to see some of you keeping your addictions satisied with new medications... err... additions to the family...

My next one is likely to be a CZ 452 American... or possibly another Remmy bolt rifle... I ALMOST fell for a sweet Nylon 66... Was one of those times I would've, but couldn't... :( damn lousy economy... :(

Addicted? Right! How many do you need to have? Can you ever have too many? I can't list them all, but I'm somewhere over 30 total. I don't have a problem!

This is sad indeed! The .22LR remains my favorite round. Sadly, I consider the .22LR's popularity to be proof-positive that we never really "grow-up". You want to see a group of grown men return to their youthful antics, pass around a box of .22LR, and have them take turn shredding tin cans. Make that a brick, or a case. I take my daughter to the range with her box of 525 rounds of .22LR and she starts pestering me for some money to buy another box. Seems even the women folks like the "lowly" .22LR. :D

I don't have many yet,

2 Marlin model 60s (one scoped and one with iron sights)

Remington 513T Matchmaster (very accurate, penny size 5 shot groups at 100yards :) )
