I know a lot of folks will chide others, often in a snarky tone, "well, you should have stocked up while you had the chance like I did!" Well, sometimes life happens, and we have far more pressing and immediate concerns than buying ammo. "Stocking up" is not even thought about. Then, when things calm down and we get back into it, it's shocking to see what is going on! I would NEVER have thought that .22 LR ammo would be this hard to come across. Ammo for evil black rifles and military surplus ammo, I understand (and we can pretty much get that now!), but .22? Also, we don't all have big wads of cash laying around to buy up mass quantities of guns and ammo... even when it's "cheap". We have to just get what we can, when we can, with what we have.
I'm also pretty much limiting my already limited ammo purchases to a few calibers. Not looking for .44 Special or 7.65mm Mauser. For rifles, I'm gonna go with .243 and 7mm Mauser, and pistols, .38 Special and .45ACP... and I haven't gotten any of the last three in quite some time. And .22, of course...
I am not much of a shotgun shooter. I should be, I guess. What is the state of shotgun shells today? Prices and availability ok?
