I don't want to lube case necks anymore. Is Dillon the only die that comes with a carbide neck sizer?

All FL sizing of bottle necked cartridges requires the use of lube, carbide or not. If you want to neck size only for your bolt guns then you can get a Lee Collet Neck sizing die that works without lube.

I'm talking about lubing the inside of the case necks. I believe that if you use dies with a carbide expander, you don't have to lube the necks. I know redding makes a kit to add on, but is dillon the only one who makes one ready-to-use.

Redding makes carbide expander button kits for their rifle dies. I still find I need some lubricant to make the expander process go smoothly.

I usually brush some Imperial Die Wax in every 3rd or 4th case or so. A very small amount of wax is adequate.

Call Forster

Then tell them what to do with it

CUSTOM neck honing of Forster FULL LENGTH SIZING or NECK SIZING DIE to your specification. We custom hone the inside neck diameter by using a diamond stoning process. We enlarge the inside diameter to prevent over-sizing of the case neck due to thick neck walls. You may require this service for two reasons: 1) If you use some brands of brass cases, such as Norma or Lapua, which have thicker neck walls. 2) If you do not intend to outside neck turn case necks that have thickened after repeated firings. Please specify desired inside neck diameter. Note: 1) No more than .008" stock removal from your existing die neck diameter is possible. 2) Honing is done in increments of one half thousandth of an inch (.0005"), meaning that your specified inside diameter must be either.XXX0" or .XXX5".
$12.00 plus actual return UPS shipping cost & insurance Please allow 1-3 weeks.

Then buy a Lee collet neck die in 223 Rem.

If you are in a bolt action, break action, or falling block, use the collet neck most of the time, and only FL size when the bolt will not close easy. Then adjust the die so it barely fixes the problem. Do not get the die too close to the shell holder or you will be trimming brass.

If you are using an AR15, use the FL every time, but adjust it right.

I split-up the sizing operation into two steps: Redding body die, then Lee Collet Neck die. I don't like to lube the inner neck either.

Have you compared the run out and the growth of that system to other die or die combinations?

I have done bunch of that kind of 223 testing, but I don't have a Redding body die. I suppose I have a FL "S" die, I could take out the bushing.

I too use the Redding body die and Lee collet die for 223. Typically the runout stays between .001 and .002 and seldom need to trim.

I just wash (or you can tumble) my cases and use Redding carbide buttons. I've never lubed the inside of a case neck in 45 years. :p

But if I did ever feel the need to lube them, I'd use a nylon brush and dry graphite. Several of my friends do this, but it always seemed to me like an unnecessary extra step.

I full length resize my .223 cases.
My RCBS rexpander ball is wore out--does not expand mouth enuf to receive bullet.
I have a spare resizer die--expander wore out also.
I screwed a 6MM rem. exp. ball into spare die just enuf to touch case mouth--this opens case mouth enuf to receive bullet ( Rube Goldburg but it works)

I'm tired of boat tail bullet FMJ
I like some of those new purddy bullets with the plastic looking tip w/out a boat tail
OK---is that allright with you ???

I use Lee dies, and I don't lube the inside of the neck.

I lube the case body and full-length size for my AR. I neck-size for my bolt-gun dry.
