I was enjoying reading the posts on THR this morning and was thinking...
If the 357sig is a necked down 40s&w. Is there a market for a 10mm necked down to 357?
It would be very comparable to the 357mag in performance....

What is your thoughts???

The 10mm is already very comparable to the .357Mag in performance. .357Mag has a small advantage in energy with the very light bullet loads. The 10mm has a small advantage in momentum with the very heavy bullet loads. If you stay in the middle, in terms of bullet weight, there's hardly any difference.

If you want .357mag performance out of a 10mm gun, there's no need to do anything at all--it's already there.

Yep, it's really very simple when discussing the difference in these 2 calibers...

Meh, if you're going to be a bear, be a Grizzly.
Might as well neck down a 10mm Mag to .355"-.357"

The 10mm Magnum should be a standard chambering in a Desert Eagle model.

Back in the day they made Deagles chambered in .41 Mag, so offering one chambered in 10mm Mag shouldn’t be much of a stretch. I’m sitting on about 250 cases of Starline’s 10mm Mag brass from the last run they did, … pre-pandemic IIRC.

Writer John Taffin had much to say on the cartridge and handloading for it:

I'd love to see the 10mm Magnum come back. I still have an AMT Automag IV as well as a bunch of 10mm LAR Grizzly barrels that I plan to rechamber to 10mm Mag. I have the chamber reamer....just haven't done it yet.

A Deserted Beagle in 10mm Mag would be cool too.

If I recall correctly, the Dillon guy that came up with the 9x25 also did a 9x30, which was the 10mm Magnum necked to 9mm.

Edited to add: I forgot, I also made an M1 carbine in 10mm Magnum about 20 years ago. My dad still has it.

One step at a time, 10mm Auto is still gaining in popularity, but once people realize the 10mm Mag isn't some fantasy cartridge, they may want that in the future as a more affordable super power autoloading pistol (brass and bullets are significantly less than .44 AMP) but IMO the future of 10mm Magnum is in revolvers as that's where it's going to have compatibility with 10mm Auto and .40 S&W via moon clips.

S&W 610 revolvers that have had the cylinder chambers reamed to 10mm Magnum specs are effectively 3-in-1 guns through use of the moon clips. Plus, if you reload for the 10mm AUTO already (which you should), you’re likely stocked on bullets that can be shot in all three cartridges.
