We have been down path of: if you could only have 5 handguns or one handgun to do it all. This question doesn't have a budget, that most of us have to justify. Have fun with this!

1) pocket carry = M&P 340 no lock 357 with night sights
2) going to Wal-Mart carry = Staccato CS 9mm (this is a carry size 2011)
3) woods carry = Korth Classic Revolver with 4" barrel in 44mag
4) BBQ carry = Springfield Custom 1911 in 45acp
5) relaxing at the range = Colt Single Action Army with a 7 1/2" barrel in 45lc
(6) Honorable mention SHF we are being attacked by a hundred ninjas = Tarun Tactical JW4 Pit Viper (John Wick couldn't have been wrong 😉)

Ok I couldn't keep it to 5 🤣

I pretty much have 5 guns that cover my needs…mostly.
Here are my 5 guns that I would like to have to joyfully supplement my needs. ;)

1. Nighthawk Skyhawk 9mm revolver. I have wanted one of these for 7 or 8 years.
2. Chiappa Rhino 40DS or 50DS 9mm OD Green just ‘cause.
3. Henry BB Birdshead revolver .357 Magnum
4. Taurus 450Ti .45 Colt revolver
5. S&W Heavy Duty .357 Magnum

There. I think that covers it.

WisBorn - the handguns I have suit me just fine, although two aren't really "desirable" caliber-wise. Those are a Colt Jr. in .25 ACP that, although very accurate (was NIB until I inherited it), it's too "puny". The other is Colt Hammerless of 1903 in .32 ACP. Its barrel is worn and, despite being able to get a new one, it wouldn't be "original".
The rest are an SP-101 in .38 Sp., a GP-100 in .357, a Ruger Single Six in .22LR & Magnum, and the PMR-30 in .22 Mag.
And all have corresponding rifles.

Ooooooh I love these threads because I get to think about all the wierd stuff I love but could never think about affording.

#1 Webley Fosberry
#2 Kriss vector 10mm
#3 an 8” smolt. Smith frame, 8” python barrel
#4 Freedom Arms bisley custom in 357 Herrett.
#5 rear gripped xp100 7-08 14” on a lightweight tripod

And since that’s 5 but I can’t do a 6th I’m gonna say that I live in a free country that doesn’t believe that true antiques are modern firearms which gives me just enough leeway to find a savage navy and a volcanic repeater.

I also really want a Bufferless 10mm AR but that’s gonna be on the SBR list since it’s gonna be equipped with it’s side folder.

I had to look up the 357 Herrett. The Google search said it is a good choice for deer hunting! 🙂

It’s a slick round that never really took off. 3030 case trimmed and tailored for pistol length barrels… it’s a meat getter that would be fun in a FA or BFR and it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibilities since the already have 357 barrels and 3030 cylinders. Wouldn’t take much to short chamber Nd the. Run a Herrett reamer.

I could handle #1-3 on your list with a 4” .357 revolver.
Honestly, I don’t understand why it’s called a “”BBQ carry,” but I get it.
It could be a 4” Colt Python. Blued, original, not CZ era. Pluheeezzze….
#5 could still be the same Python.
#6? Pass me a Glock 19 and I can rock on ……

Sure, there are plenty of other choices/options, but if I were to really keep things to a minimum, I can get ‘er done with the Snake and Glock and a lot of ammo.
Happy Easter, fellas.

Mmm.

No. 1- Colt 1908 Vest Pocket (.25 ACP)
Deep concealment

No. 2- Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless (.32 ACP)- belt carry under a coat

No. 3- Colt SAA (4-3/4”, .357 Magnum)
Woods gun, plinker

No. 4- S&W New Departure (.38 S&W)
Recreate Col. Applegate’s mdl for novelty and occasional carry

No. 4- Ruger SP101 (.357 Mag, half lug, fixed sights) for defensive and woods carry usage.

All guns I’d like to own but thus far haven’t been able to justify actually spending the money on. Ie the wish list!

1. Carry: Sig P365 w/red dot
2. Time afield: a stainless S&W K-frame in .32 mag (not sure such a thing exists but I bet a smith could make me one for enough of the green stuff…)
3. Range fun: CZ Shadow 2 Orange or CZ Custom A01-LD
4. Home defense: SilencerCo Maxim 9 (integrally suppressed S&W M&P 9 essentially)
5. Just because it’s cool: Broomhandle C96 (I’ve shot one and handled extensively but never owned.)

1. Preferred Carry: Glock 43X or Glock 19.4
2. EDC: Glock 43
3. HD: Glock 17.5
4. Woods Carry: CZ P-09 (Soon to be replaced by a 5.7)
5. SHTF: Glock 17.5

Too many honorable mentions to bother listing them.

Want list, not in any particular order;
S&W M-27 w/3-1/2 inch barrel
S&W M-52
Colt Gold Cup --- Blue
Belgium Browning Hi-Power
Night Hawk 1911

Let's see,

1. Ruger Single Six with both 22 LR/22 WMR 4 5/8" barrel
2. Ruger Blackhawk 44 Special (flattop) 4 5/8" barrel
3. Ruger GP 100 357 Magnum
4. 1911, 45 acp, probably a Springfield Armory, Stainless Mil-Spec with Cenier Conversion slide.
5. Ruger Blackhawk 45 Colt

No. 5 was the hardest. Choices ranged from a J frame 38 special (642), a Smith 15, an NAA Mini 22 LR, Redhawk in 45 Colt, Blackhawk in 41 Magnum.

My list would be...
1911 chambered in 45 ACP or 38 Super.
A 357 magnum revolver, most probably a S&W L-frame.
A Colt Mustang (380 ACP)
An S&W K-frame 22 LR revolver.
An S&W 45 Colt revolver although a Ruger Redhawk would be an adequate substitute,.

Just a few honorable mentions 👍🙂

My tastes run too pedestrian and basic for these wish list lists...

My original list from the earlier "5 handguns" thread still stands.

That would be a tough choice between those two. On one hand I had a S&W Model 57 and a Model 58 and was set up to reload .41 Magnum. On the other hand I have 5 revolvers and one lever action carbine, all for the same cartridge, so I'm well stocked up on .45 Colt.

Yes I know...decisions, decisions!!
