5 Bucket List/Wish List Handguns That Would Cover Your Needs?

Wish list…I really don’t have one.

What do I need?

1. Glock 19 - carry for people
2. Glock 43X - carry for people
3. Glock 20 - carry for boogeyman
4. Glock 44 - plinking and teaching aid

I could be perfectly happy with the above four…but since the number is five…
5. Glock 45 - always wanted one…guess this is my wish list gun

Five....I may have more than five needs!!

General travel gun: Smith M-60 with a 3" bbl. in .357 but probably loaded with Speer Gold Dot +p .38 Spl's.

Into town or city when CC is a dominant requirement: Sig P365 in an OWB 4:00 holster.

Woods use, round the farm, hunting or hunting back up: Smith M-629 5" bbl. or Ruger Flat Top .44 Spl SS w/4-5/8" bbl., or Smith M-27 5" bbl. plus OWB and "Tanker" holsters depending on use.

Fun gun around the farm with kids, novices and ancient geezers: Colt King Cobra .22 Tgt, Ruger Standard Auto Mkll, Ruger Single Six Convertible, Ruger Single Six .32 H&R 4-5/8" bbl.,

One gun to Rule them All (if all the previous were not available): Sig 1911 RCS in .45 ACP along with Sig's proprietary .22 Upper Slide bbl. Assembly or Ruger CMD in .45 ACP with Colt series 70 uppers in 9mm, .38 Super & Ceiner's .22 upper. (A four-caliber Steel Commander in other words)

Oddly enough, the pistols on my list already take up space in my safe. In the past 37 years, buying and selling handguns, I've culled the herd down to the Bear Necessities; I have a few pieces of eye candy in the safe, but most of my handguns are for serious business.

1) Kahr CW9 (I actually have 3 of those...) For me, it's the best CCW pistol I've ever had...
2) Springfield SW-35 9mm HiPower... for what the CW9's lack in capacity...
3) Kimber 4" ProCarry (not a II...) in .45ACP
4) Dan Wesson 741 4" and 6" .41MAG revolver
5) Browning Buckmark .22lr

I guess I'm lucky that I have all of those on my list, already.

Money being no object... and we are talking Fantasy Disco, here...

HM 1) BrenTen 10mm... with 10 magazines. The 10mm really intrigues me, and I figure if you are going for a 10, you might as well go all the way...
HM 2) S&W 63 4" 22lr revolver. Fantastic small-frame rimfire revolver, probably none better. (had one, stupidly sold it.)
HM 3) S&W 686 no dash .357MAG revolver. Probably the best all-around .357 revolver on the market. (had one, stupidly sold it.)

5 handguns that would cover my needs? For what? Plinking, hunting, self defense, concealed carry or...?
1-1911
2-1911
3-1911
4-1911
5-1911

Well if you don't already have one, you could always get a 1911 in .38 Super, add a 9mm. barrel and magazines, as well as getting a .22 Conversion kit.

The 5 I have are :
SA EMP4 9mm
SA EMP4 .40S&W
RIA 5" .38 Super
Ruger 5" 10mm
SA A1 .45 Auto

I have a couple of nice .22 target pistols, so I'm covered there, don't need a conversion kit.

Fun gun around the farm with kids, novices and ancient geezers: Ruger Standard Auto Mkll,

Best regards, Rod

I had a similar pistol back in the early to mid-70s, just with a longer barrel (7" ?). I made the mistake of trading it as I didn't have the money to flat out buy an Astra Constable in .380, for which, I'm still kicking myself. Forty-nine years later, I still have that .380.

5 of what I have would suffice, but there is one I dont have I'd like in the list.

#1, that I don't have, would be a 3" Python.
2 would be my PT1911.
3 would by my Gx4.
4 would be my S&W 25-5.
5 would be my TX-22C.

I think 5 more pistols would actually complete my pistol collection nicely.

1. Glock 20 SF in 10mm
2. Colt SAA with 7.5" barrel in .357 mag
3. Ruger GP100 with 4" barrel in .357 mag
4. Glock 21 SF in .45acp
5. Cz 75 in 9mm

99% I carry the same gun- an HK P30sk, with 124 +P Gold Dots.

If I need something smaller, the Kahr Mk9 gets the job done.

5 different guns would just confuse the issue.

Main gun - HK VP9
Hunting - S&W 460 XVR
Fun Gun - Colt SAA
Fun Gun 2 - Uzi (have wanted one since I was a kid)
Holy Grail Gun - Real HK MP5K

I probably do not need anymore handguns, but I am going to get a few more.
1. BERETTA 92X Compact LLT from LANGDON TACTICAL. They upgrade the already very nice 92X Compact to exactly what I want to carry.
2. RUGER Match Champion .357 revolver. I already have a GP-100, but the rough trigger is not satisfactory, so I will trade it in for the Match Champion.
3. A new COLT Python. COLT got this one really right in my opinion. The smooth trigger and good looks make it very desirable to me. I will probably go with a 4.2 inch barreled one, but that new 5 inch matt Python is also drawing me to it.
4. A SIG 365 in .380ACP. I have the 9m.m. one and while it is an excellent gun, recoil is right at my tolerance level.

The BERETTA would be for a carry gun, the others are a little heavy to carry concealed, but would make excellent range and outdoor guns.

Good topic, and timely.

For a number of years, I had a "magic number" of guns which I would hold myself to (safe space), and a self-imposed policy of "Want to buy one? Gotta sell one."

In the last few years I have sold a few and bought very little, so I have some room in the safe...and I have identified a few I'd like to add to fill those spots. We'll see how that goes.

All that said, narrowing it down to five handguns...I kind of enjoy these exercises, so let's give it a try.

1. Kahr PM9--EDC for many years. Some others (esp j-frames) could probably suffice, but with 5 rds vs 7...the PM9 is still my favorite EDC.
2. S&W M25-13 .45LC 4" revolver. Favorite revolver.
3. Kahr CW380--smallest, lightest, best shooting mouse gun I've ever owned (and yes, I have an LCP, but the Kahr is better).
4. S&W SC1911--alloy frame 4" 1911...and I have a Ceiner .22LR conversion kit for it.
5. S&W M-66...gotta have a .38/357, right?

What is missing? A lot, including my Ruger MkII .22 and my S&W M18 .22.
And a lot more.
But this is an exercise, so we will keep it real.

Bucket List/Wish list and you some of you guys had hum drum..

Bet you had posters of Chrysler K-cars, AMC Pacers, and Station wagons hanging on the walls instead of Ferrari's Vettes, Lambos, etc.

I have always been a truck guy! So I would like a F350 with a 6.8 V10 on forties. I gun rack in the back window with a Weatherby MarkV and a Benelli SBE!

I'm a practical guy, but have a wish list that will never happen. So this is a combo of practical/utilitarian and I wish:

1 a registered magnum. We'll it's a register magnum.
2 a Ruger Single-10. Target, fun, varmints, small game
3 S&W 610 no dash 6"
4 Freedom Arms in a heavy caliber.
5 I'll keep my M&P 4" Compact 9mm EDC
