The Ruskies make 9MM amoror piercing ammo for military. It is an exposed, steel tip/core round. Said round weighs in at 65 grains and departs the barrel at 1967 fps (an obvious +P+ round denoted as 7N31. I read about this in the GUN BUYER'S ANNUAL PRESENTS #40, "Special Weapons: Military & Police". Or see www.guns-weapons.com
This ammo is said to pierce helmets and body armor? Hmmm. Just sounds like over-statement to me. That really doesn't seem very heavy, very fast, to compromise body armor? Now, a FMJ 150 grain, 30-06 doesn't compromise ceramic plates, so how can this? Or am I making a connection that isn't there, they just mean soft body armor?
The article is on page 78 if anyone is interested. They also feature MANY other extraordinary, desirable little "toys".
