Has anyone found and/or tried reloading a 9mm hardcast flat-point bullet that fed reliably in a Hi Power or a Glock? If so, I'd love to hear who made the bullets, what weight they were, what your powder/charge was, and see some pics of your reloaded rounds. I'm a total newb to 9mm reloading and could use some advice and inspiration.

Thanks

I'm lovin the Dardas SWC 124 in my BHP. Working up loads of W231 now.

I load Missouri 9mm 125 gr SWC at 1.045" and they feed/chamber reliably in Glocks (picture shows MBC bullets and OALs I use for Glocks). Since the bearing surface of the SWC bullet base is substantial and bullet base gets seated much deeper in the case neck, I used reduced max charge of W231/HP-38 during my initial powder workup (I used 3.9 - 4.1 gr for 1.045" OAL) referencing current Hodgdon load data, Lyman #49 and 1999 Winchester load data.

I would suggest 3.8 - 4.0 gr of W231/HP-38 to start and if you are using factory Glock barrel, inspect the barrel every 200-300 rounds for fouling build up and clean as necessary - http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=8560817#post8560817

Current Hodgdon load data
125 gr LCN W231/HP-38 OAL 1.125" Start 3.9 gr (1009 fps) 25,700 CUP - Max 4.4 gr (1086 fps) 31,200 CUP

Lyman #49
120 gr LSWC W231 OAL 1.110" Start 2.9 gr (963 fps) 17,000 CUP - Max 4.4 gr (1264 fps) 29,600 CUP

1999 Winchester load data

I use Magnus 135 grain LRN bullets in a Hi-Power. I bought thousands of them a few years ago when they were cheap.

I've just started trying truncated cone bullets cast bullets (Lee 356-120-TC) but I can't get them to feed reliably because my HP has a hump in the feed ramp. I didn't expect it to be a problem because the flat on the bullet is so small; maybe a different OAL will help.

I've polished the ramp but have not changed the shape of it. Haven't given up yet, I just don't shoot 9mm very often.
