9mm is too snappy.

IMHO, No full-size semi-automatic pistol up to .45 ACP qualifies as "snappy" in the recoil department . . . but then again, I started out shooting .357 revolvers, and those aren't bad at all. (Until you get down to things like scandium J-frames, which are in a whole different ballpark. Ouch.)

I would never consider 9mm too snappy unless out of some lightweight pocket plastic pistol. I have never fired anything subcompact in 9mm. Piece of cake out of a full sized steel gun like a 75b.

I have a Kel Tec P11 you wouldn't like. I do like it, a lot. :D Out of my Ruger P85, I think the slide is snappier than the round.

BTW, that 14 ounce Kel Tec is very light recoil compared to a 22 ounce Radom P64 in 9x18 Makarov I have. Go figure. I think it's probably the fact that the Radom is a blow back gun, even though the round is much lower pressure. But, if you don't like recoil, don't buy a Radom P64. :D Great gun, though, just snappy as hell. I put some Marshal grips on it which helps a lot. With the plastic grips it had, I had to use a shooting glove cause the thing hurt.
