A guy I know claims he's a sniper.

So I was at a bar with a few friends, one being a fellow gun enthusiast, and we saw a guy we knew from High School. Let's just call him Nick. I remember always having an arrogant attitude towards everyone, and claimed that he trained with SWAT, even though at the time he was just a 16-17 year old high school student that just happened to wear combat boots but probably wasn't strong or smart enough to figure out how to use a Liberator. So from the start everyone knew this kid was full of it, and then again we saw him just not too long ago. This time he claims he's going to Algeria to be a sniper! :banghead:

I didn't know what to think! Right away my bs detector exploded and I just wanted to corner him and ask him a ton of questions like, "I'm assuming you're in the military...what branch? Where did you go to basic? What weapon were you assigned to at basic? What's your MOS? What company are you in? Who's your drill instructor?" I myself have never served but I think I would know fake answers if I heard them, for instance if he said he was assigned a Remington 700 at basic instead of an M16A2.

I wasn't aware of anything going on in Algeria, and even then don't only soldier of fortune types become snipers? Or at least people that have on some level proven themselves in the military? I wasn't aware they let skinny ignorant non-military mall ninja types become snipers! Maybe he knows that LOKI fella that was here.

Although he didn't mention anything about the military, so maybe he's going there to be a sniper hitman! :banghead: Kids these days. Why is it always sniper that everyone that's not legit claim to be when they lie about being in the military?

Maybe, just maybe, the Algerian military caught wind of his unexploited and unequaled street skills and have given him a full ride/red carpet enlistment to do some of their black ops. Didn't you see Vin Diesel or Ice Cube in Triple X? Sometimes the government needs a road wise civi to do the things none of their trained hands can do.

You should mess with him. Remember the used car salesman in True Lies? Let's all come up with a game plan for this. It could get interesting.:evil:
 
Well it was early in the night and we were there to watch the Tiger's game. He didn't act drunk at least as far as I know. Another thing, he had his girlfriend there with him and I know she heard him tell that to us. He's not smart or creative enough to make it up for the hell of it, so she must think he's telling the truth.

Ignore him, laugh at him, call him a liar, but don't take him seriously.
 
I too am a sniper. I have been lying on my deck in full camfage with my
Remibgton 700, .308 with 48" bull
barrel. I have been waiting all morning for General Gray Squirrel to show himself so that I can get a head shot.......

Probably because they've played too much CounterStrike or Halo and they're a badass sniper in the game, so reality has blurred for them and they think they really are a sniper. :uhoh:

If a terrorist can hit a camel tent from the inside, they promote him to sniper automatically.

Oh I'm doing just that. If anything I find it hilarious and completely typical for this kid to claim such a thing. If there's anything I love more than hearing such ridiculous stories, it's hearing about people that get caught lying about it, like the car salesman from True Lies, although I don't think any cases were as crazy as that.

He's the kind of kid that'll go for a mall security job and claim his title of being something like, "Special Forces Tactical Response Sniper Marshal"
 
I can't judge, not knowing him or the situation, but he could be dangerous. Laughter just might set off an unstable person and cause him to "prove" his sniper capability at the local mall or high school. Be careful.

In High School he always claimed he had violent fights with his brother and always seemed to have a short fuse and willing to "show what he's got" and such. I don't want to take him shooting, I really don't want anything to do with him.
 
Next time you see him, ask him, "So, how was Alegeria:neener:"?

Our friend Loki is back on youtube (see my post above) he actually sent me a PM on youtube claiming that his ROTC experience qualified him as a vet.
 
Hell, when I am in a bar I go under then name Rond, Jamal Rond. I typically work for M16 under her royal highness. I can hit a guy in the forehead with a PPK at 100 yards, and have been known to fall out of planes with out parachutes, with a damsel in my arms. Simply to walk away after a gratuitous lovemaking in the snow.
 
Spoken with a thick scottish accent: "If ewe find yerself under attack by Toonisian snypers boys...DUUUUNT MOOOVE! Let em' shoot till they run out of bullets and then be on yer way. They can't hit fer ****!"
