I have come across an excellent product to make my gun cleaning process easier and more economical. It is a lint-free foam non-cotton non-fiber caliber-fitted swab. The company, Bore-tips markets a kit containing swabs of exact caliber sizes for many rifles and handguns.
These swabs do a good job applying cleaning fluids, capturing and removing residue from cylinders, barrels and crevices and do an equally good job applying lubricants to needed areas of my handguns. The swabs are reusable simply by washing them in a dish washing detergent.
Best of all, the price appears to be competitive or less than what I have paid for my cleaning tools and patches in the past.

The website also has a video about these cleaners and indicates that they do not charge for shipping. I assume that local gun suppliers also carry Bore-tips but then I would think that sales tax would be added to the product charge.
