ABC NEWS: US Guns in Mexico

I know Sportsman's Finest in Austin used to have WWII Japanese Landmines on display. I believe they were also Class 3 items (though not for sale). They also have an H&K full auto grenade launcher. So you can get these things, but you need to have the cash on hand (and the obvious $200 check to the federal government).

Well we did pretty good when we played cowboys and indians. Look like we need to play cowboys and mexicans again.

I have a nasty habit of hanging out in gun shops down here on the Texican border, within howitzer range of the Rio Grande.

Almost every time, someone that can't speak english walks in and wants to see a gun. When asked for photo ID, the pull out something like a Mexican voter's card (Yes, it takes a photo ID to vote in Mexico).

They're always surprised when they're asked to leave. They seem to believe the media's hype, too: "American gun shops will just sell to anybody!"

1.We give Mexico back all of it's illegal aliens and drugs in exchange for our guns.

2.Seal the dang border already.

3.Problem solved.

:cuss:

AMen to that

SEAL the border around San Diego. Come to think of it, lets bring all our troops home to secure our country on American soil. It just makes sense.

Pheonix dealer busted... maybe.

Check out this other thread: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=362041

One of the posters claims to know the dealer personally and was witness to some of the supposed "illegal" transactions.

It's the BATF. Who do you believe?

I'm not so quick to take BATFs word or LEOs for that matter, if there is political hay to be made.

While I've seen Class 3 weapons at gunshows - all potential sales strictly and very closely scrutinized, heavily regulated and astronomically priced - virtually all of the grenades, mines and other "Destructive Devices" I've ever seen (outside of active military service many years ago) were legally Deactivated War Trophies, dummies or training models.

I can't recall EVER seeing "live" grenades or mines, plastique or any of the other scary things that're supposedly so readily available being offered for sale by anyone, anywhere except in TV and movie schlock. Maybe I just don't get around enough.

It's way past time that illegal immigrants, whether they've sneeked in or overstayed their visas were summarily chucked out, with dire consequences for repeaters, as soon as they're identified. It's past time for the end of 'chain' migration other than immediate, nuclear family and the automatic pass for the illegally entered parents of so-called "anchor" babies, too.

Build "The Fence". Make it as difficult as possible to cross undetected and the consequences for anybody caught on the wrong side of it immediate, dead-serious and certain to be whole lot more unpleasant than a night in the tank and a bus ride.

Armed incursion should be met with immediate, overwhelming deadly force and treated as a military security matter rather than civilian law enforcement problem whether there are uniforms on the interlopers or not.

If the Mexican government is worried that there are too many firearms coming their way then it needs to deal with the factors like rampant institutionalized corruption, organized criminal enterprises and official indifference to the law on their side of the line.
