Buzz knox is right, the psycho dumped her several months before I met her. He was living in a different house for about a year before we met and never called her until she found out I was dating her. At that point he called like 18 times a day.

He's in Puerto Rico and will need to sign the closing papers when they arrive. That requires coordination. There will have to be some contact between those two. She understands it has to be minimized.

I have been a party to hundreds of closings in which there was no contact between the parties other than through an escrow agent.

There does not need to be any contact between GF and the ex. I'm starting to sound like a broken rec...rec...rec...rec...

From the description so far, I'd be betting that the girlfriend won't be able to swing financing to buy out the ex's interest in the house.... where could she get it? Where, where, where?

Among many things she cashed in her retirement fund, took a big hit financially for selling at a bad time, and sent him the money.

Some of the people in this thread are being too harsh. My girlfriend has faults, some serious ones that HAVE to be dealt with, but some accusations are not applicable to the situation. For some strange reason I don't mind though, keeps me on my toes. I'm not going to debunk every accusation though. This thread would increase many fold in size.

My girlfriend's biggest fault is a rather weak backbone, although her current backbone is 100x stronger then what it was when I first met her. That is a complicated situation that apparently belongs on armedpolitesociety and not THR.

Sorry, I didn't know about this. I'll look into this and talk to banking lawyer I met with last night.

Meh it doesn't bother me if you close it. I think I got all I need from this thread. The only question I have left is whether to go for a recording/restraining order or simply make the gf avoid all contact. At this point I'm not totally convinced what is the best path. I'll be talking to a prosecutor/attorney for that answer as I'm sure the cops may have left something out.

I have most of what I need legally. If it makes other people in this thread feel better on monday I'll have professional advice on how to make absolutely sure I'm giving my girlfriend the chance she needs without falling into a hole myself. The pro I'm going to get advice from is skillful and I've had good luck with her in the past. I'll be ok on that end. I need sleep. Between work, this mess and other things I've been averaging 4 hours of sleep a day.
