Price drop.
I haven't shot this Federal 36 gr Lead HP before and will post 50 yard groups in the now 50 brands/weights/lots 22LR accuracy comparison thread - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...nition-comparison.908102/page-3#post-12915324

Update: Price listing to below $30/500 and include lowest price CCI SV

Might add ammo seems to be going fast around here again since recent politics.

We're coming up on an election cycle, prices will go up, inventory will go down. As always.
I agree but much more than usual. Will be monitoring this thread closely from now on. FWIW: Shop said they cleaned out most popular calibers in day -- more than they have sold in months before. Gas prices going down fast as well. Here we go again?.

Perhaps.

But if you need to buy to shoot now or want to start stock piling, these are comparative accuracy results from now going on 50 brands/weights/lots of 22LR testing at 50 yards with 16.5" KSA bull barrel soon to be followed by 18" Green Mountain bull barrel - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...nition-comparison.908102/page-3#post-12915324

Not finalized running 50 yard accuracy comparison listing so far with 16.5" KSA bull barrel (18" Green Mountain testing planned next). Some groups pending repeat testing for 30-50+ round sample size and questionable group size from wind/gusts, barrel temperature, bore condition/residual lube in bore, etc.:

Prices seem to be stabilizing downwards. Probably because more capacity has come online. Plus it seems like copper and lead prices have moderated. Good time to stock up.

The forum software has conveniently pointed to a similar thread from 2020. Prices seem to be slowly closing in on what they were then with what appears to be more variety available these days.

That thread started out in 2017 when $50+/500 shipped dropped below $30/500 shipped - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...ammo-for-sale-under-30-for-500-rounds.825048/

Then in June of 2019, prices fell below $15/500 shipped and I started a new thread with $15-$20/500 listing - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/22lr-for-less-than-15-20-500-shipped.853059/

That turned out to be the bottom of previous shortage before rising back up post Covid and I stocked up between $15-$20/500, quite a bit with Aguila 40 gr CPRN as it was quite consistent with accuracy.

With current shortage, this "22LR ... lowest shipped pricing" thread was started in March of 2022 when pricing dropped below $50/500 shipped - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/affordable-22lr-lowest-shipped-pricing.902560/

By June of 2023, pricing started to drop below $25/500 shipped for some brands of 22LR - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...-shipped-pricing.902560/page-12#post-12647254

When by July of 2023, sufficient brands posted pricing below $30/500 shipped, I capped the listing to $30/500 except for CCI SV - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...-shipped-pricing.902560/page-13#post-12683320

Listing is currently at $25-$30/500 shipped and I am uncertain which direction pricing will trend as we head towards November election and into 2025. I am thinking we are not likely to dip down to $15/500 like in 2019 but plausibly anticipate pricing heading towards $20/500 after the summer shooting season is over and supply increases beyond demand. (Consider current pricing is summer shooting demand "factored in" ;))

That's why I started hinting for THR members to buy 22LR ammo they need to shoot now but start considering stocking up on favored brands/weights (also boxed vs loose bulk) as we continue to monitor price trends as coming fall/winter may be the near-term bottom of current shortage cycle.

Five cents per round shipped for reasonable quantities seems to be where everything is headed, at least for regular shooting ammo.

I wonder if there is much room for it to go lower.

I have a feeling once summer shooting/plinking demand drops off, prices will go lower as we head towards fall/winter.

Just my guess. :)

It’s more than I want to spend all at once but a bulk buy of 10,000 rounds of 5000/5000 CCI SV/Aguila SE HV would have me set for a long time. I’ve taken to preloading my magazines to limit my ammo consumption.
