If it were not for the AWB Id say 9mm would win for its high capacity, low cost, low recoil, yet still above 90% one shot stop characteristics.
However, when your rounds are limited the question becomes whats the largest "bang" I can stand in a gun small enough to carry, and still fit 10 rds in a magazine......?
Enter the .40S&W for a great majority including duty weapons for Leos.
Of course there well ALWAYS be the "bigger is better" (.45) die hards as well as the "faster is better" (.357 fans).
My views is largely based on the fact that they are all rated higher than 90% one shot stop.....
I look at it this way, once your above (or very close to) 90%, it doesnt really matter...
Since it doesnt matter, carry the one with the lowest recoil for faster follow up shots, the one with the cheaper ammo for more frequent/cheaper practice sessions, and the one that holds the most rounds in case your having a real bad day and things take a turn for even worse
