..for wanting to put one of these hand guards on my 10/22? It'd just be for the looks really. I'm going to turn the gun into an LTR for Appleseed purposes, and I feel like a hand guard rounds out the the look nicely. I'd prefer one that was metal, but can't seem to find one anywhere. (I'm guessing that's because I'd have to shoot about 500 rounds of .22 fairly quickly to heat up the barrel to the point where a hand guard would even be necessary...)

What is silly is that the website uses hearts to rate it. Guns and Valentines hearts... hmm.

Looks good. I'm a milsurp lover though, so think that most rifles look much better with an upper handguard than naked.

Have fun at the Appleseed!

I don't think you are silly AT ALL!
;)

Silly?! No. Your money; your rifle; your decision. Some people may think that I'm silly because 100% of my centerfire rifles (excluding my Super Grade) wears a picatinny rail. I see that as functional, and facilitating scope interchanges, etc. Do as you enjoy.

That is one of the many reasons to own a 10/22, so you can hang lots of silly doo-dads on it. ;) Enjoy your rifle as you see fit is what I say.

It actually does serve a real purpose. I know when I had a 10/22 and spent hours putting hundreds of rounds through it, that barrel would get super hot. If you spend a day outside plinking and are carrying it around with you, you don't want to get burned. I think it looks good AND serves a purpose. Go for it.
