"Spastic"? That terminology may be over-wrought--and I can well understand the motivation.
But, I have also been through the rigors of creating peer-reviewed information, both educational and professional. I spent 19 years ata part-time job in information warfare, too. And a lifetime in the AEC world, were accuracy and specificity of information is crucial, and legally required.
So, after having been in an environment were insisting upon correct terminology leaves little leeway for tolerating those content to live with inaccurate, incomplete, and/or incorrect information is sore vexing.
I do not have a good answer for that feeling.
With my new-hires, I can educate them. Then educate them some more. If that education fails to take. they usually wind up doing something else. Out in public amongst the sparkii, it's grit my teeth and abear it.
Such is the life for those of us neither Eloi nor Morlock.
