Quite true Skwab and 'crew', it is difficult to resist the temptation, however...when a very popular Internet distributor increases x39 prices exactly $50 per 1,000 in about 10 days, count me out.
It is a personal decision to allow unashamed scalping to exploit the shopping panic, among whom are many regular, loyal customers. When all of this 'sinks in' and prices cool off, this might cost them more in the long run. Good will, very competitive prices and top-notch service is worth lots of money. Look at Southwest Airlines.
Why were so many people, somewhere out in Cyberland (or watching the Fox Channel), surprised that Obama was elected? Unless many were out of work or had personal problems until the last few weeks etc, why did they wait until now to buy a chunk?
My wife saw how much I bought from last winter until a week ago and warned me about our other bills. She is right, and I was really hooked. My shopping over about eight months was anticipating gradual price increases, being new to all of this, instead of a full-blown panic. I've only been really interested in rifles for about a year and I'm 53, with my first (and frankly impulsive) gun purchase back in October '07.
Just wish that my son in college were interested in shooting.....
Were there not good signs a few months ago that Obama's 'rock star status' was infectious both in the media and around the world? This ammo situation is baffling. There were no real surprises in the election.
Youth before experience can win even when all else is equal, and factor in the war and the economy plus Bush's history-making unpopularity. What national event happened overnight??
