So its been about a year since I've seen my Father-in-law. He came into town this week for work so we had a great chance to catch up and talk about one of our favorite subject, guns.

For some background he is a huge Glock fan and owns a Glock 21 and due to several recent surgeries on his shoulder and elbow he now unable to shoot it because of the violent recoil it gives him. He isnt a small guy, he stands about 6'2" and maybe 200 lbs so on a healthy man his .45's recoil is a non-issue.

My wife has been telling him all about my passion of purchasing firearms and being that he has never made it out to Texas this was his first time being able to see my small collection.

So now that I have that out of the way, we started talking about .45's and how he cant shoot his anymore due to his injuries. This got me thinking so I brought out my Ruger P90th. He picked it up and inspected it and commented on how comfortable it felt in his hand. This got me thinking, I recently put an EFK Firedragon frame saver spring in my P90 and I have noticed a huge difference in the recoil, so I suggested that he join me in heading over to my local gun club.

Being that he hasnt been able to shoot a .45 in quite sometime and he was nervous about his arm, I only loaded him up with half a mag. He steps up to the fireing line, takes a careful aim, and BAMM right in the 10 ring. He stops looks at me with a huge smile on his face. After he finished emptying the mag he sets my Ruger down and ask, "So, what do you want for you gun? Will you take my Glock as a trade?"

So tonight he tells me he has decided to ditch his Glock and wants to get in the market for a new Ruger.

ANOTHER GLOCK BITES THE DUST!

GLOCK
DISHWASHER SAFE IN ALL 50 STATES

There is nothing wrong with glocks, just people who don't know there is life outside of owning one.

I've heard the P90 Ruger can be converted to 10mm haven't seen it or found where or how to do it, you find it and you'll save another from being a Glock owner. I'll only buy a Glock to purchase a 10mm Glock 20. My fiancee loves my P90 too much to let me convert it but I could another one up for just over $300 and get it done. Maybe conversion for a P345 instead.

I've heard that to. If I remember I think BarSto had a conversion at one point but its been a while since I've checked them out

Thats great that he found a gun to be comfortable with. On the flipside, who cares if someone likes a Glock or they dont?

Have your Dad check out the G21SF.

I've always felt that the G21 felt like a brick in my hand - I like Glocks - but yesterdat I got to fire a G21SF, (SF = slim frame), I found it fit my hand very well and it felt like the recoil was a little less too.

I have owned 2 Glocks in the last 3 years. Started with a Model 19, 9mm and **** canned it within 2 months. Bought a CZ and soooooo much happier.

Have a Kimber 1911, 45acp, 4" and decided it was a little big for carry and bought a Glock Model 31. Took me 2 weeks to dump that one and got a 3.5" 1911.......

sssoooooo much happier:D:D:D:D

Am I a Glock convert? NO..... People tell me how great a Glock is and I wanna puke.

You like em, you keep em

Another Glock has not bitten the dust. Some very smart gun person will buy it and add to his collection knowing what a fine weapon it is.:neener:

How thick is a Glock slide?

I have a coffee table that's not level, and so...

Actually SF=Short Frame. But that wont solve anything. Its obviously the glocks fault. Thats why no LEO agencys use them anymore. They will probably go out of business soon too, because old men cant handle the recoil of a .45acp.

(im A Gun Lover )any Gun Out There Gets My Love.rugers Included. So Don't Be A Glock Hater, learn To Embrace Them All.

Yeah Rugers are awesome precision machines with great triggers and great aesthetics. Oh yeah, and Bill Ruger has done a lot for the shooting sports with your dollars as well. Keep supporting the company that makes sub par guns, and uses your funds against you.

That sounds like a great idea. The Glock is among the elite group that could serve a duel purpose like that. It would level your coffee table and therefore would always be handy. By the way, don't worry about the coffee table hurting it, the Glock can take it and still perform well.

I do not like Glocks. I don't like striker-fired or DAO pistols and Glock's ergonomics don't work for me.

But if someone else likes Glocks, I'm ok with it.

I'll try to get them into something better (IMO) but if they stick with Glock... meh.

Glock and Glock fanatics are not our enemies. The Neo-Stalinist anti-gun people are the enemy.

Embrace diversity. We're all in this together.

Ah yes, I love it when someone brings up the glock. The glock fanboy army converges on them and suddenly its like watching a gaggle of monkeys trying to hump a football.

Really, just pick the weapon that best fits your hand and personal preferences. Glocks are good weapons but so are XDs and rugers.
