I know hi-points are a love 'em or hate 'em kinda gun (personally, I love them and recommend them to anyone needing a cheap, reliable gun), but out of all the numerous hate threads on hi-point, I've yet to see pics of one blown up.
They're rated for P+ ammo. They're so cheap that a lot of people don't care about what kind of ammo they shoot through it. There's enough of them around now (the other hi-point thread said they're the 4th largest USA handgun manufacturer now) that if there was anything seriously wrong or unsafe with the design, we'd be seeing pics posted all over the web of kaboomed hi-points, most likely with a different story each time, just like the glock threads. But, I have still never seen a pic of one that had a catastrophic failure. I'm sure there probably has been, just like there has of all firearms that have been produced in large quantities, but I still haven't seen/heard about one yet.
So, anyone got some pics of a blown up hi-point?
I know one of the people here at THR is going to be testing a hi-point (against a CZ?) soon, but for what they cost, I'm surprised that some of the other haters (or lovers) haven't bought one just to torture test or run hot loads through just to see how much they can withstand before they turn to shrapnel.
