I have not heard anything more about the carbine conversion for the Beretta U22 NEOS which was one of their main selling points of this firearm, and also one of the biggest reasons my wife chose this gun aside from the feel in her hand, when she picked it out when I was told I had to buy her, her own handgun BEFORE I could purchase my hunting rifle for my upcoming hunting trip. Now after shooting a full power gun, she insists I can only buy one more firearm for myself then I have to buy her a full power handgun, AND a fullpower rifle, before I can get myself anymore. Sheesh and when we got together she didn't like guns. Until after 5 shooting trips me and a friend FINALLY got her to shoot. Natural shot she is too. I'd like to get her into competition. I think she could do well in target comp. Especially 30 yard .22 handgun targets. From the weaver stance with no rest and a factory mass production firearm no less. Sigh. Afraid she may end up shooting better then me, but oh well, as long as she shotos and enjoys it, thats the important thing. Anyway back to the conversion, anyone know if Beretta is still planning on releasing this thing? I've written them letters but have not gotten a response.

I've been told by Beretta reps to maybe expect it in another year or so. Possibly it's a design hurdle that they're trying to overcome, or maybe some sort of legal/production problem. I got a certain impression that they have indeed prototyped the carbine, but that for some reason it wasn't quite finalized. The reps I've spoken with also seemed to be somewhat weary of the carbine issue, so it seems safe to say that Beretta is well aware of the demand for it.

Heh... sounds like the rail issue with the Storm.

At the Milwaukee NRA convention, I asked the guy in the Beretta booth about the top rail. He said that, had he a nickel for every person who had asked about it, he'd be rich...

I love my Berettas. But I'm getting the idea that US distribution has some issues...

It's been vapor for some time now, at least 2 years. they said some time ago it will not be produced.

They need to let their dealers know, as their dealers are holding onto customer money for them on pre-order. They already had the dang thing made. I like Beretta firearms, they're great, but I feel like I have been cheated. They put almost 2 years worth of ads in the magazines making this the major selling point, and it is the only reason many people bought a Neos, and is the main reason most others did, ibncluding my wife(well I bought it for her but she picked it out). I feel like I have paid for an incomplete firearm. I've already done a trigger job on the thing, and it's broken in. This particular example shoots like a dream. It's a tack driver, the trigger still has the factory weight break, but virtuallyno takeup, and no overtravel, zero creep, and broke nice and clean when we bought it, and after the trigger job, it breaks even smoother. Wasn't hard, I just kept the edges sharp on the sear which are at right angles, then took a 9000 grit polishing stick for model cars and hit it with that all the way up to 25 thousand grit(which is like glass), and then hit it with a dry polishing wheel in my dremel for a few seconds. Took under 5 minutes. The tiny bit of creep on there, you can no longer feel, as there are no find scratches on the surface anymore. However, if we can find another gun that is going to fit her hand, and shoot this nice, we will get rid of the Beretta, because of this issue.
