well,,,

i didnt have enought time to get the bushy all dialed in so i'm bowing out of this months. i mean i COULD send the target in but it would be mighty lacking in holes...

maybe may...

:D

In all honesty guys were not talking about an easy target here. It's not even as big as that pepsi can last month. So don't get down on yourselves for having a hard time with it. I expect a tough time myself as I have not fired a rifle lately. I'll be trying to shoot my target this afternoon.

I shot my annual pistol qualification yesterday and only got a 98 (still expert but not my best day shooting). I blame soreness from having three days in a row of having to chase and fight with various felons. Really, it's normally a rare occurrence. Most guys I go after with warrants come along relatively quietly. The last three days have been very unusual, (but they make for a great excuse for bad shooting).

More to come.

I sent my target today. Yes my "injuries" played a role in the score. Hard to support a rifle on an arm with pulled muscles. (excuse # 57) I scored a 5/20.

My injuries occurred Sunday night while trying to remove a Very large and stout suicidal drunk form the middle of the highway. I wrestled with him for at least 5 minutes before another officer arrived. The two of us together finally bulldogged the guy and cuffed him. One pair of cuffs attached to each arm and then connected because his arms wouldn't go that far behind his back. I came out pretty good considering that the first time I tried to subdue him, he threw me approximately 10 feet ( I landed on my feet though). After I sprayed him with OC he only got madder. Not a good night.

Anyway I look forward to Mays match.

I thought pepper spray took them down instantly?

I was wishing to get my Swede and shoot it for the improved class before the month was over. Oh well. I think I still have an extra RPG man target around and I just might shoot it for the heck of it when I get a chance. Good luck, I can't wait for the scores.

What was really bad is that was the third fight in three days. I haven't met any serious resistance in the last 6 months. Then 3 fights in 3 days. The first wasn't too bad. The guy was pretty much subdued by the plate glass window he jumped through to get out of the house he was in. The rest was pretty easy. The second one was cuffed and compliant from the house to the car then headbutted me at the door to the car (cheek still sore). I never let go, so again, not much of a fight. He went straight to the ground when I applied some gentle pursuasion techniques. That guy Sunday was a doosy though. Not good when they simply wipe the pepper spray from their face.

Anyway rest assured I intend to come home every night I work, at any cost. You can't get rid of me that easily.

in west palm beach, fla the police had a method for those that really needed it, it was called the "screen test"

sounds like mr head butt coulda used one of those... :fire:

you guys have screen tests in 'bama?

Screen test exist in Alabama also. However I would never muss up my screen with this turds face. However he was sufficiently educated on proper manners for being arrested before being placed in my unit.

April Results: A difficult, but very fun shoot. He's pretty small out there at 50 yds. I had the pleasure of blasting off the little dictator's mustache and putting a nice string of three into his nether regions :D.

Special mention to Deputy Vaughn for playing while injured in the line of duty. Thank you for your service sir!

Another special mention to T.Stahl who: A. Sent his entry in from Germany B. Won the Stock class while shooting from 50 METERS. C. "Bent" the new April 1 German law prohibiting shooting at human silhouettes -- he figures this month's target wasn't quite human. I second that opinion.

Nice shooting THR Members!:)

Be sure to do the May poker shoot!

Thanks ROTR. I am glad to know I wasn't too far off from everyone else. I hate that bastard RPG man! At least I got the most X's! I am proud of the Swiss K-31. I see that you (ROTR) got the same score with yours. Were you using the Swiss match stuff? I loaded up some 150 gr FMJ/BT loads for it, but decided to use the match stuff instead.

Thanks again ROTR. I appreciate your time and effort. I just don't understand why more guys and gals don't get out and shoot it.

Thank you, ROTR! I wasn't sure whether the letter would make it in time.
I just hope that the BMI doesn't surf THR. Anyways, all evidence is far away now and I don't expect you'd had it over. ;)

El Rojo -- I use the GP11 stuff from Aim Surplus. I also had a string of 5 vertical shots right at x-level, but j-u-s-t to the Right (where else?). One clipped his shoulder and the rest cut the empty space between his left shoulder and knee. 7 fliers all over the paper and 2 near-misses.

I was not letting the barrel cool much between shots - trying to keep it more like a real situation. And I haven't accurized it yet with the shim in the receiver... and there was wind...and the sun was in my eyes...and...

You had a nice grouping with yours, it's just a very small target.

Gotta love those K31s! A fine battle rifle for $100.

One more bit of K31 cool-ness - I'd never noticed this before since I usually load, shoot and unload it much more slowly. When I eject the brass on mine, it twirls in mid-air about a foot above and to the right of the chamber. Being a bolt action, the brass is cooled down, so I can catch about 80% of my brass in mid-air.:D I've never noticed a rifle to be so consistent in brass ejection.

Oh-oh, I forgot, there's a German cop on this board, Trooper. Fortunately he's on our side, I guess. ;)

The BMI is the Bundesministerium des Inneren, the Interior Ministry.
Actually, I wasted a lot of ammo as the first shot was the one that entered through the target's forehead. :p
