Are you stocked up for 2024

If I wasn't its too late now. I guess I have enough paying $50/lb for powder or $120/1k for primers doesn't interest me.
I‘ve seen primers at $80/K lately, but that still stings after paying $30 just a few years ago.

I have enough pistol powder that I’ll never run out. I went a little nuts after the 2013 shortage eased.

Pretty much.

In a few months will buy about 800-1,000 rds. of .308 ammo to increase the "FAL rifle reserve".

But first, my wife will fly to NYC to hear a world-class vocal recital at Lincoln Center (A German opera star). I'm only going because I don't want her up there alone, even in a “good” neighborhood very Near, or right by Lincoln.
That trip, as her security detail, postpones the ammo. We know that totally-unpredictable events can result in a sudden panic.

I haven't really traveled too far outside this forum and am not a seasoned reloaded but is creating primers (home made) a thing? Definitely not looking to go this route, it would have been prudent for me to buy 1000's during 2017-2018ish. Just curious. $150 for a 1000 SPP seems like a waste of time and money....

Why do you say $150/k for primers? Brownells has CCI in stock for $90/k and I can find them a lot of other places for less.

While I constantly hear the moaning about reloading costs, they must not matter much to the majority of the population. The stuff is still flying off the shelves.

Many of us have stored ammo since October 2008, even though what most (other people) worried about was due to being totally unaware of “The Anointed One’s” only objective: the planned healthcare overhaul (it was Not a secret) requiring all the ‘political capital’ which existed… but there always was the threat of politicians waiting to exploit a mass tragedy. And the threat will always exist.

I have a relative coming from the old country this summer. A highlight for him is burning through 2-3,000 rounds of various calibers with assistance from my son in laws.

Even with that happening I’m more than solid for the foreseeable future in both factory and reloaded ammo and components. However, that doesn’t preclude me being on the lookout for stuff on sale or my preferred powders/bullet weights etc. I’m always adding at a trickle here and there.

If people are unaware of what has been going on against gun owners in the last few decades, and haven't stocked up accordingly, well....
I certainly feel sorry for people who are just becoming of age to buy guns and ammo.
Anyway...got what I need since I don't hunt as much as I used to. Only ammo that I have been needing is .410. Luckily I found plenty at a reasonable price at Scheels.

I have more in stock now than I usually would the pandemic changed my thinking on how much to keep in stock. I have Blue Dot ,Enforcer , Titegroup, Bullseye, W244 , W296 , American Select and IMR 3031.. I have enough primers for 2 years and replace as I use them same with bullets and brass.

I've been reloading for half a century so I was in fair shape going into the last shortage but in an effort to keep from depleting my stash I bought a couple blackpowder revolvers. Loads of fun! Picked up a round ball mold, tinkered with making my own powder and even bought one of those cap making kits.
Use times like this to expand your horizons, if you don't reload, buy a reloading kit and learn how. Most guys that reload will help you get started and maybe even have a few extra components if needed.
No bullets, learn how to cast and powder coat. Casting is one of the cheapest of the shooting hobbies to get into. Get a few aluminum molds for your common calibers.
Save everything, brass, old primers, fired 22 cases, lead wheelweights found in the parking lot, all of it can be used with a little imagination or possibly used for barter.
My point is, just because the shelves aren't full of 9mm and. 556 doesn't meant your days of shooting are over, maybe their just getting started.

I have my factory ammo for emrgency purposes but could stand to get more .40cal. I have all my reloading components except I need to acquire some more black powder. Will do that when PowderValley runs another free HAZMAT special. Luckily, BP did not go up like smokeless.
