Handgun only unless I'm going to a jurisdiction where I'm not allowed to take one. Then a shotgun -- a Mossberg .410 youth model with an 18" barrel. It fits well in the "secret" luggage compartment of my hatchback.

We have never had a population of 600 thousand. We have between 400 and 500 thousand. Our population fluctuates depending on oil prices. Many people have residences here to avoid state income taxes on dividends retirements etc.
Wyoming is a very outdoor state with miles of public lands and 2nd Amendment freedoms.

Tough to go on a walk in Wyoming, every one driving by stops and asks if you need a ride. I would have stayed there when I retired if there was work. I did love that state.

I'm typically on the road 3-4 days a week (typically home every night) and normally keep a pistol in the car. I work in higher ed so I can't carry, but can keep it in my vehicle.

Mace pepper gel or small handgun depending on what local ordinances allow. Never felt the need to haul along long gun unless I'm going sport hunting.

Wyoming Population 2010 Census: 563,626. Estimated 2016 Population: 586,107. Estimated population of Pronghorns: 450,000.

I carry a handgun all the time. Traveling it's a Glock 19 and a Kahr .380 in my front pocket. I will occasionally throw an SKS, an AR, or a .22 rilfe in the truck if traveling distance but those are more for plinking than defense.

Wyoming population is dropping with low oil prices and closed mines. In this area we have seen a 20 % loss in population. But of course we have a number of California Transplants? Don't we? The "Goat" population fluctutates every year. Those of us that have been here are aware of the Goat and human population flexing.
