Gday all, this seems to be the best place to get the word out.
Australia has a 2nd political party which is pro gun (the other being the Shooters Party).
This Party is the Liberal Democratic party and it will be fielding Senate candidates later in the year.
Why another party you say?
The LDP stands for the idea that there is too much government and will be largely standing on a platform of economic/welfare reform and tax cuts, it just so happens that some of the other agenda items include reform of firearms laws and a good hard look at public liability.
There is a web site: www.ldp.org.au.
I welcome all Aussie shooters to have a look- you will see that there is a wide range of policies, most of which will strike a chord and make sense to those who feel we need a change of direction in this country.

All the best
Cheers

Wait a minute... the Liberal Democratic party thinks there's too much government, is for cutting taxes, and wants to give your guns back?

It's true... toilets do spin backwards down there, huh ;)

you owe me a keyboard.

PS coffee hurts when it exits the body via the nose.

Whatever happened to the anti gun proposal in Tasmania to ban pump action rifles with magazines/drums over 10 rounds?

The toilets spin backwards? ;) LOL Laughed till it hurt! That is one of the best observations I've heard in a long time! Hit the nail on the head.

I am unaware of the Tasmania proposal mentioned above.
Pump action shotguns are restricted to a C class licence here, but rifles are not. Lever action shotguns eg Win 1887 or 9410 however are an A class same as rimfire.
I don't know about magazine size restrictions either, my .303 holds 10 no legal problems and my 38 spl lever action can get 11 or 12 in the tube.
I might just point out that in 1997 when the Port Arthur shooting occured, leading to our current restrictions, Tasmania had the strictest gun controls in the country.

There was some news story reporting awhile back that Tasmania wanted to ban manually operated rifles that had magazines over 10 rounds.
