I bought the one revolver .357 GP100 4" but haven't warmed up to it that much and may sell it. Just seems easier to clean the auto, sights tend to be better and they don't have as many areas of concern (forcing cone/flame cutting). Don't know what it is but maybe I don't have as much fun shooting it at the range either.

I prefer an auto for any practical purpose. When I've aged enough that the federal government considers me mature enough to own a handgun I'll be using automatics for concealed carry and as nightstand guns.

However, there is no feeling quite like cocking the hammer on an SAA, especially when the guy teaching you how to shoot it is wearing a cowboy hat and looks like John Wayne. First centerfire handgun I ever fired.

So, both. :D

Unless one wants handgun for hunting the Glock has made revolver obsolete. Sort of like Benelli is to Glock what Wheelgun is to pump shotgun.

Um, ok.

Revolvers for me. I did pick up a Glock 17 recently, however, and have been impressed. But my wheelguns are far from obsolete, so I remain primarily a revolver shooter.

revolvers for me. i do have one auto though with 6 hi cap mags that can hold something like 4,000 rounds of 9mm. it is a fun gun, but i dont feel the connection like i do with my revolvers. i would rather shoot and practice with the wheels. i"ll take a 5 shot snub and a speed strip.

I shoot both but revolvers greatly outnumber autos. I own at least three dozen revolvers and have never worried about forcing cones and flame cutting. Nor have I ever found revolvers difficult to clean. I don't take them apart for cleaning every time I shoot them either. They get wiped off after shooting and that is all. I brush out from under the extractor star every several hundred rounds for DA's. Clean the basepin and ejector every several hundred rounds for SA's. Swab the chambers every once in a while and practically never worry about the bore. Unless it is leaded.

I'm far more practiced with my autoloader, but I own more revolvers.

There were other autoloaders before revolvers.
Also I dont get your comparison. Heavy is to overrated what reliable is to reliable?

Oh both, I wouldn't miss the chance to shoot them all. Bolt action, break action, pump action long guns too, working on a lever action. Don't have a derringer - yet.

But in the sock drawer next to the bed is a 686+ "6, and an L frame .38 is the main carry. LCP is is the backup.

I'll weigh in with the girl vote..lol... Definitely auto. FN Herstal five-seven......

I'm an old school Lawdawg and self admitted Wheel Gun addict, but I must admit that sometimes as I walk/drive downtown and see multiple saggy pants thugs, I appreciate the high capacity semi-autos. The best of both worlds to me is the new 8 shot S&W .357's!;)

To steal a quote, "even if you face a mob, you shoot the first two or three and the rest will quit". ;)
