Auto or Revolver for you?

Some of both

4 autos, 3 revolvers. I like revolvers better but when I am in the gunstore, the selection of auto's is so overwhelming that I tend to look at them most.
I agree with a statement above, there is nothing like cocking the hammer on a SAA. And I mean nothing.

I like both. I own more autos than wheelies. I shoot a bit more accurately with wheelies. It's easier to clean autos than wheelies. Wheelies are more fun to shoot than autos. Autos seem a bit lighter than wheelies, even when both are fully loaded. Capacity sometimes worries me, therefore I CC autos more often than wheelies. Overall, I prefer autos over wheelies, but I like wheelies too.

My current carry gun is a Smith 638 which is a j frame 38 special but I also own a 1911 which I like to shoot but find both fun to shoot, I almost prefer revolvers but autos are fun too.

I carry and train with modern semiautos, but for plinking, field carry, and hunting, I much prefer revolvers. Even carry them occasionally for CCW. And as a budding reloader, I like not having to watch where my brass lands. I guess for me, semiautos are just tools, whereas revolvers are both tools and toys.

Some days all I want is a giant bowl of noodles and vegetables in peanut sauce, covered with enough Sriracha(that red sauce with the Rooster on the bottle ;) ) to make an elephant faint.

Some days it's a half lb burger, burnt black and covered in bleu cheese.

I'd advise against licking your guns, but it's the same thing. Everything here can keep you alive, but why limit yourself to only that thing.

"To steal a quote, "even if you face a mob, you shoot the first two or three and the rest will quit". ;)

Craig, my preference would be to shoot them all. :D

Give me big bore revolvers and I don't like chasing brass. I carry a glock-36 most times but most my range time is with my revolvers.

I own more revolvers than pistols, but I like both equally and feel comfortable carrying both. My "pocket" gun is a .22 mag NAA mini revolver. It is on my person all the time I don't have a larger pistol on my hip. My normal CCW is a Beretta 84B or a SIG P220. I carry a 4" .357 whenever I'm hiking, canoeing or camping.

I own both and like both. I shoot my semi autos the most. I own a lot of them. However the .357 wheelgun is a perfect all purpose gun. But if I had to choose one or the other ,I'd take the semis. More round capacity.

I shoot a 1911 better than anything else, so most of the year I carry a 1911.
Then again, I look forward to winter so I can change it up and carry a 4" N-frame for a couple months.

for the range I shoot my 1911 and 22/45 almost exclusively, but I recently
started using my revolvers again, I find them alot more difficult to shoot but also alot more fun.

shooting a 2.5' 686 or 6.5' model 29 seems to make people at my range on the
left and right of me flinch their shoots due to the report(most are shooting 9mm 380 and a small few 45acp)

the only down side is the cost of 357 and 44 mag ammo.

for carry it has always been a revolver, I like autos but they lack the reliability
of revolvers...my best auto took just under 4,000 rounds to get a ftf but it still happened. that and for carry if I want something small and light like my 340pd, Id have to carry a 380.

My DH and I prefer semi-autos, my oldest son is undecided, and my daughter is a revolver girl.

There's no disputing matters of taste. :)

The only handgun I have ever used in a real shootout was a Colt M357, which I took to Viet Nam with me on my first tour. Despite that, my carry gun is an M1911 -- a Kimber Custom Classic.

depends on the need

Depends on what I will use the weapon for. CCW , auto because I went with light ! Home security or plinking I have a 2" .357 and a 4 3/4" .22lr . . All in all I'm more of a auto fan tho....WVleo

When it comes to shooting 45 ACP, I was lucky and scored 2 GI type 1911's at several NRA events. Also own a S&W model 625 wheeler in that caliber. I can shoot the 625 far better than the 1911's so ended up selling the two them and kept the 625. In 9mm, I had a Ruger wheeler in that cal that I did not like. Sold off all my 9's but kept a Star Model 30. Love that piece. In 22's my favorites are a now old S&W 5 screw K22 I bought new in the late 40's and a Colt Matchtarget 2nd model Woodsman. Guess I really don't have a leaning toward either a semi auto or wheeler. Love'em both.

I really love revolvers, but I do own two semiautos as well. I like having a nasty high capacity "tool" around that is just plain bad ass. My revolvers still get most of the attention though honestly.

I dunno, I don't wear the same shirt every day...... It all depends on my mood.
