I'm equally at home with both. My primary EDC is a semi, but my pocket pistol is a revolver. I grew up shooting both, so my accuracy is the same regardless of what I shoot.
I've owned at least 10 DA revolvers over the years. Most have been .38s or .357s, but one was a .44 Special. I've had Rugers, S&Ws, and Tauruses, but no Colts. Despite best efforts, I cannot grow to like a DA revolver, and I have sold all that I've owned. In handguns, I primarily shoot semiautos, though I do own a couple of SA revolvers, which I like just fine.
IMO, each excell in different areas. Personally, I prefer autos for SD applications, although in some situations a revolvers can be just as good. For target, hunting, plinking, etc. I really prefer a revolver.
I've heard this before on other subjects. But some of the fastest cars still run carburetors, and a lot of sheetmetal gets roughed in to shape with a mallet and smoothed out on an english wheel.
There's a difference between old school and obsolete.
