Back-Up Gun?

The thread is about a extra carry gun.
I’m not a fan of the wee little 9mm
I prefer the 44spl- (1100Fps & 190gr)

My L frames are 5 shot revolvers….
When I carry my 5 shot Powerful Revolvers I feel I prefer to carry a secondary revolver for the additional capacity.

You Quoted Massad and a reference about a statement he made regarding Revolvers.

I’m waiting for you to provide where he Stated that… Or was it your Paraphrasing of your opinion. Still waiting.

Please provide where this is Found, Thank you

I've looked back through the postings here and I'm not sure where you're going with this, but I think I've found your answer after just a few seconds of google-fu. The guy in the video below reads an article by Massad Ayoob on exactly this matter. He even cited the magazine article as October 23, 2012 in Personal Defense World Magazine, which I also googled to see if I could find a link. And I did.

Skip to about 2:45 in the video below if you want to listen to it, or go to the article also linked below:

Thank you gentlemen. Perhaps a bit off topic- Was just wanting clarification for a statement from Kleanbore after I asked 2 times…..it was erelavant to the thread. Perhaps I should have private msg him.
My apologies/ Carry on … with Revolvers / autos , 1 or 2. Yet carry Enough Gun!

PS--it was a Smith and Wesson Model 642--five shot. I bought it because it would slip into a jeans pocket. I found the trigger, recoil, and sights terrible, and I liked the idea of a sixth round.

So I bought a K6s, Much better, but heavy, and I have found it more comfortable in an OWB. I carry it when elbow trouble interferes with slight racking.

I see my opinion of “Why I would carry” a Secondary firearm may have opposition- A post or two has been Deleted?

Capacity- A Revolver and it’s capacity is why I feel I would carry a second revolver. That is a valid reason and discussion point.
Perhaps a bit of clarification was requested- And or examples.

Kleanbore- You seem to be a advocate for Semi autos and tend to shun the idea of Two Revolvers.

Have you ever carried “ Your Kimber 6 and the J frame that you carry” … at the same time? perhaps not- Yet I feel Many people who read this… Do consider that to be a sound idea. Maybe not you tho.

Off topic for ST&T--discussion of shooting deer should go in hunting.

Yes indeed.

No. That was the original New York Reload.

Have you ever carried “ Your Kimber 6 and the J frame that you carry” …
No. The 642 is gone. With its light weight, long heavy trigger pull, and poor sights, I was unable to use it effectively in SD training drills that required rapid controlled fire. That had to do with primary carry--not backup.

I tried a revolver for backup, but I refer the LCP Max for size and weight.

You will note that Mas has carried a service semi-auto for primary, and a Scandium J-frame for backup.
