Hey!!! Im looking for a bang for the buck pistol!

Im looking for a pistol under... lets say $500, im not a Glock fan(there overrated), i want something in 9mm, something that could be carried everyday, and something thats of the equal quality as my XD-M.... whats the best bang for the buck pistol out there?

-Bushmaster M4
Spingfield XD-M 9mm
Ruger 10/22
Ruger MarkII
NE PardnerPump

If you want plastic other than Glock, M&P 9mm or Ruger SR9 come to mind. If you want metal, I'd go with CZ either P-01, Rami 9mm or PCR. CZ is one of the best bangs for the buck out there. Don't forget about a Hi-power either, they can be had used for close to $500.

Every now and then you'll find a S&W 3913 TSW priced the same as the standard 3913 ($250-300). I've picked up a few like this.

Nice Browning Hi-Powers can be found real cheap sometimes, especially if you can do a private sale.

Ruger. I have a P85, but it's a little porky for carry. I had a P95 for a while and it was lighter, if not much smaller. Both were flawless and under 400 bucks for the P95. I gave 225 for the P85 used from a guy at work. It's a good shootin' gun, too. Don't like the trigger much, usable, but not up to my P90's trigger. Neither 9x19 had/has a great trigger, but I can still shoot 'em well. I haven't fired the SR9. It's got a completely different trigger and the size is carry friendly.

I'd love a Smith 3913NL, but the price scares me.

The 10/22 is a rifle, but you can get the Ruger Charger, which is basically a short barreled 10/22 with a target pistol stock. Looks pretty cool and takes all the same parts internally. Sa them at the gunshow yesterday for $249, brand new. Take the other half, spend it on ammo and shoot the rest of the year. Not a viable carry option, but a lot of fun.

Beretta 92FS. Good enough for the Army, good enough for me. It's my personal carry piece. Available around here for $350 to $450 for 99% guns with original case and two magazines.

Cannot beat the XD-M for!!!

Welcome XDM1390! I was so impressed after I bought my XD-M 9mm I went and purchased another one 3 weeks later. [My wife will kill me if she ever see's our Cabela's card balance:eek:] This gun is a True Combat 9mm. Great Trigger, Accurate, and Totally Reliable. 19 in the Mag + 1 Gives you 20 total rounds. Awesome Gun!

The Best to You and Yours!

Frank

You already have the best bang for your buck 9mm IMHO. I have the same and love it.
I also like the M&P 9mm as it has changeable backstraps like the XDM. Plus, it comes in a compact version too. I think you can get one for around $450 or less.

If I'm reading the OP correctly, you already have an XD-M, but in a different caliber than 9mm (which makes it a .40, yes?) but you now want to add a 9mm to your stable.

Get the 9mm XD-M! You know its manual of arms, like the gun, and it simplifies things.

Get the XDM9.

+100 to post #4

Tanfoglio Witness Elite Match is around $450-$500,I have friends that shoot thousand dollar plus guns in IPSC and IDPA,when they shot my Elite Match, the first thing every single one of them said was "Wow"...I paid $425 OTD... Reed's Ammo in OKC seems to have them in stock pretty regularly, also check out Hennings for parts,I think he's a Tanfoglio factory shooter...

I think those guns listed at the end of his post are already what he owns, instead of what he is looking for.

Unless you are looking for something small to carry I strongly suggest a CZ SP-01, P-01, or 75B. I have a SP-01 and have shot a 75 alot and couldn't be happier with either one. If you are looking for somethign a little smaller to carry the P0-1 would be a good choice instead.

This is hearsay, as I've not ever actually even seen one, but from what I've gathered here and elsewhere, nobody has anything but good things to say about the Stoeger Cougar. MSRPs at $469 and is the same gun that used to be made by Beretta for a higher price.

im not a Glock fan(there overrated)
I was once in them shoes, but quickly realized that Glocks are reliable, cheap, and very lightweight for carry. Whats overrated?

2nd choice would be a CZ PCR:neener:
