Be Honest What Do You Really Carry??????

Most of the time a Kahr PM-9 with 1 spare magazine. Both magazines stocked with 124gr. +p Golddots. My holster is a Highnoon Hidden Impact tuckable IWB holster. This setup is very easy to carry all day.

I had been carrying a Seecamp LWS .32 in a Hedley rear pocket holster, though a week ago I started carrying a S&W 432PD .32 H&R Magnum in a DeSantis Insider holster. The holster was recommended by forum member JohnGill, and is working well for me. Thanks again, JohnGill.

I carry this 5" 1911 in a Lou Alessi CQC/S OWB holster, or the 4" in a Gary Brommeland Max Con V, about 10-16hrs per day.

I didn't see it mentioned but I often carry the E. Germany Makarov.

Some might scoff but I can assure you I can hit what I aim at and that's the most important aspect of defense and it's light enough not to put a long day strain on me.

Other times I carry the Sig 239 in .40.

Well, I guess I am a?? backwards...again. I always carry my Beretta Tomcat 3032 Inox with Winchester Silvertips. Usually (though not 100% of the time...being really honest as was asked) I also carry a compact firearm in 9mm. The actual 9mm that I "usually" carry actually varies based on mood and dress (S&W 908S, XD-9mm SC, Baby Eagle Compact, etc.). I use to always carry a Bersa 380..only..but changed a few months back. Being short and skinny any of my full size hand guns print obnoxiously..no matter how good the holster/belt/dress combination...just doesn't work for me given my body style unforunately.

9 times out of 10 it is the H&K P7PSP in 9mm. The 10th time will be a colt gov 380 in 380 auto.

Mostly it is what I wear that day which decides which gun will go.

G26 along with the essentials.

I see no reason to carry anything else. As long as I'm wearing a belt (FIST gun belt), it goes with me where ever I go regardless if I'm tucking in my shirt or not.

Carry

Mostly Kinber Ultra Carry .45, 1 extra mag. Sometimes .38 model 49 S&W . And according to what I wear , and the heat, I'm most comfortable with ...... my Colt 4 3/4 .45 SAA. Either gun would take care of things. Or they always have. ..............MUTT

The Mak is a nice carry gun. I carried an EG for the first two years that I carried. I switched to the revolver not through any real failing of the Mak, but for the better round and simplier manual of arms (draw, point, shoot). I still have the Mak as my "spare" carry gun for when the Smith is down for cleaning, or whatever, and I don't feel any less armed when I carry it instead.

Honestly? Its really split depending on what I'm wearing and my mood. Here's a list of possibilities, in order of how frequently I use them.

Work:

Springfield 1911 Micro Compact in an Action-Direct under shirt rig with 2 spare mags.
Kel-Tec P3AT in a pocket holster
The Micro in a Versa-MaxII under an untucked shirt (can only do this on casual days) with one spare mag
The Micro in a Smart Carry rig. I hate this one.

Not at work:

HK USP .45 full size in a Blade-Tech owb under a loose shirt or 5.11 vest.
Springfield 1911 Champion Gunsite Edition in a VM-II or Yaqui paddle
Springfield 1911 Lightweight Champion in a VM-II or Yaqui paddle

When not at work, I'll split between a 5.11 vest or a loose fitting, untucked shirt. One spare mag always goes along as well.

100% of the time, a P3AT in the pocket.

90% of the time add a Kimber Compact CDP IWB.

Occasionally, add a 442 in an ankle rig or coat pocket.

When I carry, I carry my Kahr Elite 98 9mm, with 2 magazines. I carry my pistol IWB in a Blade-Tech Kydex sheath.
I ALWAYS have my Seecamp on me.
Occasionally, I carry my S&W 342PD; sometimes IWB (with spare ammo), and sometimes in a pocket holster.

At home: S&W 642 in pocket holster.

Outside the home: a pocketknife and a sturdy pen, because I don't yet have a CHL. That will change soon, though, as I took my CHL class this weekend (perfect scores on both the shooting test and the written exam, woohoo!). As my usual attire is lightweight slacks and a tucked-in shirt, I plan to tote the 642 or a Makarov in an inexpensive nylon IWB holster, in a homemade belly band. It seems like the best compromise for me in semi-formal attire in a very hot climate. Trebor, perhaps something similar could work for you, with your Mak?

I'll write up more about the belly band setup when I have a chance to test it away from home. One bonus is that the belly band can be used -- with the gun where legal, without the gun when travelling -- as a money belt.

Thanks, all. This has been educational and has given me some ideas to explore!

All my best,
Dirty Bob

Summer months: Kel-Tec P11
Winter months: Glock 36
Around the house: Kel-Tec P32 stuffed into pocket until bed time. A more desireable caliber is within reach at bed time.

75% of the time an HK USP 45c in either a Galco Sky-ops IWB or a FIST paddle OWB, depending on dress.

The other 25% goes to an HK P7M8 in a FIST Inside-outside. I always carry one extra magazine and none of the other crap I see floating around in the pictures.
