9-shot 357Mag SA revolver, with a center barrel doubling as a base pin in 454Casull or wilder. Keep it set up for the center shot as critter defense, use the rest as general defense.

"9-shot 357Mag SA revolver" A modern LeMat?
A CZ-75 (or similar) in 7.62x25 Tokarev. Or an all-steel Five-Seven.
Broomhandle Mauser with a modified grip and interchangeable uppers in different calibers. Have a model in .45 that takes old Tommy Gun magazines - they're cheap.

Edited to add:
Also, a new Webley revolver - with a front-end you could take off and replace with one of different caliber. Looks like you could pull off the cylinder and barrel together - so, in theory, you could fire six of any caliber of round - with the right barrel/cylinder combo.

Here's an AR lower that takes Suomi drums. Its close. :D

EDIT: WARNING. The site is very poorly designed. There's a vid on the right that plays as soon as it loads, so make sure your sound is turned down.

A stainless steel Smith & Wesson Model 41...
My GAWD... Yes.

Right after they make my 5", Model 29 in .45 Long Colt (a la their Classics Series (5-screw frame, square-butt and honest-to-God "Coke bottle" grips)). Triple lock flavor a big plus!

How about Will Smith's 'noisy cricket' from Men in Black? I could sure use one like that for concealed carry.

1. An N frame Smith and Wesson in .357 magnum, holding 8 shots, with fixed sites, made out of...Damascus steel. I don't know if Damascus would even be possible, but it would be beautiful.

2. A .45 broomhandle that's not the size of an artillery piece.

3. (Building on what others have been hinting at) A modern, cartridge firing LeMat.

Thats easy..

...

The one in your hand that never fails, and always makes you happy you bought it.. and you got what you paid for.

+1 CZ.22, along with an M6D (from Halo 1, the one in Halo 2 sucks) and the shotgun.

Meanwhile, in the somewhat real world...

-A break-open DA .454 Casull revolver with moon clips
-A ruger MKII pistol in 17HM2 with a thirty-round triple-stack magazine
-A Ruger MKII pistol in 9mm luger
-A semi-auto pistol in .223 SSM
-A semi-auto pistol in .500 S&W mag
-A Puma carbine in .500 S&W mag
-An OICW type thing in .308 and 40mm
-A shoulder fired semi-auto recoiless rifle in 30mm (with a massive scope)

Ummm, would the USS Iowa count as a rare gun?

S&W 942. (J frame airweight centennial chambered in 9mm Luger.) Prototypes were made I believe, but I don't think they ever made it to production.

I don't know if it's my "best gun never made", and I don't know that I would even buy one, but I have always wondered why Glock didn't make a .22. I would at least be somewhat interested....

50 BMG revolver and its twin, the 20mm revolver, ya know, for deer. semi auto, 1911 style 825 magnum. a .22 pistol that comes with more than (gasp) 10 round magazines. a SAA replica with a sup $200 price tag, because its not like you are still developing the technology. a reliable gun for under $100, because it is do-able. and ruger or S&W needs to make a shoulder mounted mini-gun for individual sale.

I agree, a Glock .22lr in a medium frame. I've always figured that Glock guys were too cool to shoot anything in .22.

My fantasy zombie hunter sidearm is a six-shot 20 gauge revolver with a 10" barrel. Kinda like a monster Colt Anaconda or something. Edit to add: Not like I could handle it, it would just be cool. :)

... but since we're dreaming, make it on a frame even shorter than 'I'. And have an ultralightweight 6-shot on the same frame in .32 Auto Mag. (A high-pressure cartridge which doesn't exist).

Also while we're dreaming, they could make some models with trigger reaches and pull weights suitable for women.
