Connan Doyle's: The Lost World.

It's not perfect, but the series is notable for basically authentic period firearms and for a remarkably no-nonsense use of them.

I've noticed that on Law and Order they usually have pretty good gun handling..fingers off triggers at least........

I was gonna submit Mayberry RFD...now I know some really bad gun handling occurred, and I know this was in a time people were taught and they knew better than to believe what was on TV. HOWEVER...I don't recall Barney or any other character actually shooting someone. Instead, as goofy as Barney was he was safer than some yo-yo's today we see on modern TV, where everyone believes what they see.

But I won't submit, I was upstaged by Cosmoline...thankfully :D

Cosmoline, didn't they handle edged weapons safely also?....

I don't know how safe they are, but they do use firearms and knives quite a bit. I was impressed because they're simply used as tools. There's no political overtones to them nor (in spite of the photo!) is there a sexual overtone. The women and men both use firearms because they have to. Like they'd use a canteen.

After all, in addition to dinosaurs there are like 300 hostile tribes around them and hairy canibal monkey men. It reminds me of life at the Cosmo compound :D Only the women around there usually wear lots of puffy winter clothing

Yeah Law and Order sometimes takes the liberal road....I think that's why Michael Moriarty left........The one with Fred Thompson seems to be a little less liberal than the other ones........also Third watch seems to have decent gun stuff...although the guy Scully usually has his finger on the trigger of his revolver, the ones who carry the autos usually have their fingers where they belong...I'm really starting to like this show.A couple of weeks ago there was a lot of shooting,an AK,and Glock work by the Hispanic female was cool(shot a perp in the knees....)...

NYPD Blue is OK, and Dennis Franz has worked in some pro gun message a couple of time, plus a couple of quotes from Eddie Eagle. Thye also showed a shopkeeper legally shooting a criminal, and not be prosecuted for doing the right thing.
I just wait for Det. Sipowitz to join the 21st century, and get an auto....
