I always get a kick out of the "if I do my part" line. Not because I doubt it, but because most of my guns shoot well if I do my part, but they all seem to shoot even better when my buddy who is a much better shot than me takes them and does his part.

It drives Tacks..or another variant...Its a tack driver.

Scope X Gathers Light well

"Only had a box of shells through it", it was a damn big box, but a box nonetheless.

It's an Heirloom...

(translation - Great granddad bought the cheapest model they had in the Sears and Roebuck catalog; and now, it's completely worn out.)

Fremmer - hunters dont NEED xxxxx, but there isn't a reason for them not to have it either. Need is defined very specifically. One only NEEDs Air, Food and Water to live. All else is negotiable, now where can I get an M249 to play with.. I miss mine.

AR15s chambered for 223 cannot shoot 5.56 (If this is true where are the blown up ARs?)
Which AR Brand is best?
Kimber bashing threads
The "your 100 dollar scope sucks because I paid 10 times as much for my scope" threads
The "I do what I want" threads

My all time favorite piece of "advice" is if you don't carry in condition 1 you might as well be carrying a brick.

Also I don't remember where it was (probably glocktalk) a guy was trying to argue that a grip safety is dangerous on a self defense gun because if you were in situation where you needed to fire it with just the pinky of your weak hand you're out of luck. Ahahaha!

err, that guy on ARFCOM who got shot in the knuckles a few weeks ago with a .38 special had a weapons malfunction regarding the grip safety in that he thought it stovepiped, but in fact, he was holding it improperly due to his hand injuries. it wasn't a lethal problem in that instance since he managed to correct that issue, and in most instances it probably isn't a dangerous feature, but it definitely has the potential to be lethal.

"...while they rape your wife or daughter..."

seriously I am all about guns and I tote mine, but when these Richards start talking about the second amendment it ALWAYS goes to rape, and it's always the wife and daughter. not everyone caries and quite a lot of the folks who don't have managed to keep both wife and child unmolested. do we have to be so dark and disturbing?

if a bad guy breaks into your home and you shoot him with a .22 you'll only piss him off.

can shoot 1/2" groups all day long if I do my part......

You obviously do not hang out with many benchrest shooters if you think this claim is BS.
can You show me 1 person on earth who can keep repeating 1/2inch 5 shot groups for a day?

To clarify my previous post, I don't take issue with the position just the way it was defended. I find it funny when people take made up situations from the far far far reaches of "what if" and think they now have a solid argument. The image of someone losing 9 fingers and sucessfully fending off an attacker thanks to no grip safety was too much

We have to remember we are on the internet and you didn't say anything about the distance at which the shooting would take place.:)

You don't need to aim a shotgun

A 5.56 will overpenetrate, so I use a 9mm/.45/etc.
I was gonna post those but you beat me to it. I've had these in reality though, not just the internet. When I recently got my 870 my best friend told me not to put my cheek on the stock because it'll just beat up my face. I asked him how he expected me to aim the thing without getting a good cheek weld and he responded by saying it's a shotgun and you don't need to use the sights, just point and shoot. I love the guy as a brother but if any man could ever be described as a bimbo, it's him.

Yeah, me too. As someone stated, you just shoot more.

As for the 1/2 inch group thing, I know an ex-Marine sniper( Yeah, I know don't start!:) ) who is really good. Don't know about all day, but the couple hours we shoot together from time to time, he's pretty consistent with that 1/2 inch thing. Myself on the other hand, am still working on graduating from the broad side of the barn to the narrow side :D ( as stated in another thread ). I always played around with handguns and shotguns. Just starting to get into centerfire rifles. Pretty sure my buddy likes to go shooting with me for comic relief.
