What was that about epic fail?
I think this one could be adapted to the "My firearm is clearly better because I wasted an asinine amount of money on it" threads. The "your 100 dollar scope sucks because I paid 10 times as much for my scope" threads

Wait, that did happen.I'm the only one here professional enough to...
"Reloading will eliminate any concerns about ammo availability". It will if you stock a ton of components before a shortage. But then again, you can also stock a ton of loaded ammo before a shortage. Nothing about reloading directly impacts your ability to have common calibers during a shortage. Stockpiling does. If you are trying to buy components or equipment during a shortage you are just as screwed as if you are trying to buy loaded ammo. Ask me how I know.

"The AK is the most rugged battle rifle today."
I'm trying to chose between two civilian third world battle rifles designed 50 years ago for a tactical use SHTF weapon, which one?

Me too, if I shoot 1 round every 4 hours or so.
I can either stockpile the 20 or so calibers I shoot, or I can stockpile 4 types of primers and about 6 types of powders. Brass is free at the range, bullets can be cast, but are usually plentiful and inexpensive. I could go to a gunshow in the middle of the worst of the ammo shortage and find 100rds of most pistol caliber bullets for under $8. Really the only thing that needs to be stockpiled is primers, because even powder could be readily found, albeit at elevated prices.
If you are not saving money by reloading and shooting more during shortages, you are doing it wrong.
